Any truth to major firmware upgrade coming for 650?

Browsing the web last night I found an article written in early Jan about a major firmware upgrade coming at the end of this month. Something about the 700P and 650 benefiting from it. Has this come and gone or is there any truth to it?

Here is one of them...it says sprint, but below they state it will not be for just sprint. There are several sites that referenced this.

Wifi would be great...many on different sites were saying evdo, but I don't think that is possible due to hardware restrictions. I just hope it is not a BS rumor...we shall see.

I can SYNC, PDANET, REverse BT-DUN.. quite well..

tgwaste, talking about the problems with carkits/headsets... I have a TL and everytime I initiate a call from the car it resets the phone... No probs w/ incoming calls, just calls initiated from the car... tried deleting all Trusted Devices and reset the system in the TL but no luck... Installed a custom Rom from jamesg, that had versamail and tutorial removed to give more room for Dbcache but that didn't work either... hoping for a solution with a new fw upgrade...

If this update could update the CDMA phone to EVDO what are the chances that a firmware could update the GSM to HSPDA?
