my contract is up with cingular in a month and i want to stay with them, but i'm thinking about switching to tmobile cuz i really want a sidekick or a a630. does anyone know if cingular plans on having phones that are like these? the only one that i found that was close was the d307, but the hinge looks bothersome.
thanks for the help.

The hinge is actually pretty solid, no cheap feel to it or anything. Works smoothly. Besides that I'd say go for one of the pda's.

cingular 8125 is a sidekick destroyer

If the thing you're looking for is a QWERTY keyboard then...

Buy an unlocked A630
Samsung D307
LG F9100
LG F9200
Cingular 8152
Nokia 6820 (I know, they're old, but it is a NICE phone)

Well I wouldn't recommend the LG F9100. That phone was just plain horrible. But I do agree with some of the other one's that Rok picked. The D307 seems like a pretty solid phone. The F9200 is supposed to be way better than the 9100. The Cingular 8125 is windows powered with a slide out keyboard, megapixel camera and you can put all kinds of software on it. I'm still waiting for my store to get them!

ok, so if i decide to get an unlocked A630, what do i have to do to get it to work with cingular? Also, if i decide to do this, will there be certain things that i won't be able to do or will it be fully functional?
Thanks

just pop in your Cingular SIM card - voice and text will work immediately. if you want WAP and MMS, you need to input the settings for MEdia Net. it should be fully functional as long as you have the 850mhz band on it.

ok, no bashing please. what is WAP and MMS?

Posted by: mblphnlvr

Internet, Picture Mail respectively

MMS = Multimedia Messaging

vtecaddict, you say that i need to input the settings for media net if i want internet. how would i go about doing that?
thanks
