even with the dap version it loads up itunes, i dont have itunes on mine and it loads up when i plug it in, so your being glad may not be the cause anymore

Ctrl+Alt+Delete => Processes Tab => iPodService.exe - End Process, and iTunesHelper.exe - End Process

Now plug in USB, No iTunes. It will run if you manually start it or restart your PC. If you go into the preferences of iTunes, you can disable it there also.

Yeah, when the phone is connected to your computer and you have itunes running i think you can go to mobile phone options and make it to where itunes doesnt come up when you plug your phone in.

Ensure your phone is set to Data/Fax Mode:
Connectivity>USB Settings: Default Connection=Data/Fax Connection
This should stop itunes from coming up

Just connect you phone, let iTunes open. Go Edit> Preferences> Mobile Phone tab and there should be a checkbox that you deselect that stops iTune from automatically opening. Thats all I did.

I don't think that the Mobile Phone tab even shows up if iTunes doesn't see the phone, which it won't if the phone has the DAP. That there is an interesting predicament...
