Hey everyone. I have an MPx200 that has been an expensive paperweight for months now.

I'm curious if anyone has any ideas on a fix. The death of my phone occured the day after I downloaded a theme from Modaco.com. (The site is extremely addicting and I've missed it since I migrated from my Windows Mobile device) Since the download I couldn't charge the phone or get it to respond to the USB cable connection. The phone worked fine until the battery died with the exception of not being able to be charged. I tried someone else's charger, no luck. If you have any ideas, I'm very open to any suggestions. Anything to get my Motorola back from the dead...

Maybe try another battery, and do a hard reset (won't work since battery is dead now). If the problem was just from the software you got from Modaco, then the hard reset should fix it.

Thanks, DJester. I'm pretty sure I tried a hard reset before the battery died on me when it first happened, but I can't be sure since it happened quite awhile ago. Now that the phone is dead, I have no way to charge a battery to try it again... I guess I'll either have to get Motorola to repair it (I remember being quoted $75 + s/h for any type of repair awhile ago) or start making the headstone for its permanent resting place.

I'm extremely optimistic about a forum post I found that fits my problem to a T. It's just too bad that I don't do soldering and don't really know anyone who does (especially something this small). Anyway, I thought I'd pass this on to anyone else on hofo that experiencing similar problems. There's some great info in this thread, so don't be afraid to check it out.
