Nokia mid-level bar phone replacement for 6230?

I'm looking for a mid-level Nokia bar phone. I have a friend who has always used Nokia bar phones and loved them. Then decided to try V557 flip and doesn't like it much. I'd like to find a nokia bar phone with camera to replace the v557 with. I have a 6230 and I guess that would work, but it's getting older and it doesn't need to be that advanced. I think the 6235i would be percfect, but that's Verizon only. Am I missing something? I thought Nokia used to be king of bar phones. Where are they all? thanks.

The only thing you could probably do is wait... wait for the w810i to come out which should be available (through international or Sony channels) in a month or two.

w810i isn't Nokia. Nice looking phone though.

Vaguely related Question: does nokia 6101/6202 have keypad lock even though it's a flip? one problem with the v557 is that even when closed the side keys are active and get pressed inadvertantly.

The only current Nokia bar phone with camera that comes to mind is the 3220, which is normally sold as a gophone. I don't think there's anything better than your 6230 out there right now for what you have in mind.

So what? Nokia candybar are not superior to the k750i/w800i/w810i series...

the k750i/w800i is considered the best phone of 2005..

It's a really nice device (im using a w800i). Try one

I'd be happy to try out that phone, I like SE. But the person I'm giving advice to had been very familiar with and really liked the Nokia UI so wants to go back to that. As everyone knows, Nokia UI is the most intuitive/easy, I think that's why they liked it so much.
