What am I doing wrong...qcp and midi prob

I have read site after site about how to create ringtones. I do not want to use any type of software. So I tried the route of changing the file from mp3 to midi but the option of saving as a ringtone never comes up when send it to myself and save the file.

From what it appears I can only play midi files.. and these files are real voice tones not poly. When I send a file it is ALWAYS a qcp file and although I can save it, its never a ringtone. I need real midi file with voice.

My question.. What am I doing wrong? And how do I correct the issue? I have a motorola e815. Please help

Funny, I'm having the exact same problem. I psyched to find that I can get the clip to my sounds file, but I can't seem to get it into the ringtones menu. I'm still researching. I'm thinking about playing with Mobil edit. Does anyone have any experience using this program with the e815?
