Nokia and Motorola do not support Kodiak

7,249 posts and I bet a large number of them are "motorola does not ahve a partnership agreement with Kodiak"

When/if they do come out do we get to lower your post total for each of the incorrect ones.

I have no inside info, but I would imagine that it wouldn't be that hard for Motorola to pay for a liscense and put cingular ptt on one of their phones.

I am very sure that Kodiak would take the money. Here's a though maybe Cingular could purchase the liscense to have the Kodiak system placed on a "non-partner" phone.....

The posibilities are more endless than you might think. After all didn't we all say a few years ago.... "No Macs do not and will not ever run on an Intel chip"

i think motorola has already announced that they will have ptt phones by q3 of this year. I think the higher end nokias will also have it, eventually. if a service provider chooses to shift focus to a certain solution, kodiak in this case, most manufactors will try and jump on board. that or risk loss of market share.

While post count is meaningless to credibility, IHAP does test phones for Cingular (I believe?), so he's as close to an "insider" as we have here. I am not saying that he can't be wrong, but his posts are usually helpful and/or spot on. Besides, he never said that it can't happen.

As of right now, this post is 100 percent valid. I don't see what's wrong with it boufa.

The only PTT phones I know Cingular is looking at is the LG you see in the sticky in this very forum....and the z520a with PTT.

Well, if people took the 30 seconds to search then they'd answer their own questions. Until then I guess you're stuck with my post count and my regrugitation of information.

Thank you... My only issue is that every time someone asks if there is another phone coming, specificly from moto... someone stands up and says "Can't happen" blah, blah.

I am just saying, that CAN'T is the wrong word. Might, or might not.

How about "moto has no plans to support it right now" or "moto is looking into it" or something other than the absolute Can't and won't.

I do agree and will say CAN'T in reference to any of the current PTT offerings from moto. They are 100% incompatible (as of now)
