Using a BT headset, is it normal to take a few secs to answer?

I am using Palm's BT headset with a 650 and when I press the button on the headset to answer, it takes 3-4 seconds for the call to come through on the headset. The phone keeps ringing for that 3-4 seconds.

It's really annoying, especially if the phone is on silent. Because the call comes in, 4 seconds later the BT headset starts beeping, and then I press answer on the headset and 4 seconds later the call is answered.

hmmm.. never tried the palm's bt head set.... i have the moto h500.. there is a 1-2 sec delay before it rings in my bt headset.. but once i press answer it answers right away..
