IMEI Seems in PDS?

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Which seem and offset contains the IMEI in the PDS? (preferably for a v3, would also like to know for an e398 and ROKR if there is a difference?)

IMEI is stored in seem 0004_0001, in every model of Motorola phone.

Are you sure? I opened up the seem with XVI32 for 2 phones and the numbers didnt match the IMEI..

Lol .. seem 0004_0001 doesn't store any IMEI. It only act like a checksum which tells the phone where to grab it from the ROM.

regards

actually, seem 0004_0001 does store the IMEI.

You can't read it because it's encrypted with 3DES algorithm and additionally it's written in a special way. See the attachment

you can read it on some phones.
my v551 for example doesn't have that seem encrypted for some reason.
my v3 does however.
on the unencrypted phones, it's just the straight imei. no checksum no anything, just the imei.
changing the value makes no difference, it's reloaded at startup with the correct value from the imei eeprom register

So there is no way to edit the PDS to make it compatible for other phones?

I.E change the BT Address as well of course..
