ive found this to be very helpful to stop bitpim from freezing while reading or writing files... heres how to do it but do not expect to do much else while this is going on (my cursur was just in the same place the whole time it was reading my fone)
1. Open Bitpim
2. Open Windows Task Manager
3. Select The Processes Tab
4. Left Click On BITPIM.EXE
5. Select Set Priority
6. Select Realtime
7. When Warning Box Appears, Click On Yes
8. Start Using Bitpim
i have aout 3 MB of Pix in my internal memory of my 9800 and 7 MB of ringtones so when it reads either of those it would take a while and alot of the time it froze... i started playing around with things and that seemed to work best... if you set the priority on high its very erratic it goes real slow or real fast same with it set on normal but much worse on high... it took about 40 mins to read my ringtones, but it worked every time... like i said my cursor was just in the same place when i moved my mouse until it was done so i couldnt really do anything else... i dunno its just a suggestion, But its worth a shot; Isnt It?

Well this was probably the 10th time ive done it now, it took about 40 mins every other time... Its probly our P.O.S. compaq presario 5420 (1.47 Ghz CPU, 512 MB RAM, 80 GB Hard Drive, running Windows XP Home Edition with Service Pack 2)... Well this time i had more programs open and running (every other time besides the first, i did only that basicaly froze everything else while it was reading or writing with the priority set on "Realtime") for some reason it only took 25 mins (Only noticed that this time cuz i happened to see the clock also froze on the time i started)... Much better. i hope it will continue to do it this fast every time from now on...
