Can any of you guys help me on this. I have a 4 JL Audio Speakers, 1 Polk Audio Subwoofer, and a Rockford Fosgate 4 channel Amp. I have all the speakers connected to the amp, like the front speakers of the car and the rear speakers are connected to the Front Channel of the amp, and the subwoofer is connected to the Rear Channel of the AMP. The subwoofer works fine, the rear speakers sound loud, and the front speakers sound low. Im not sure if it could be a wiring problem or something, or maybe i blew the front speakers out or something, I have to crank the volume up higher so i can kinda hear the front speakers. Im also not sure if it has to do with the card deck wiring and all. Can someone help me please! Thanks alot!

have you checked the fade?

I did, i messed with it, and it sounds just a lil better, but i know the sound can sound more in the front than the back.. Also do you think that there is more wattage on the rear speakers than the front, the fronts are only 6 1/2" speakers while the rear is 6x9

Thanks!

That is your problem. Either run the rear speakers thru the H/U or get a seperate amp for the sub. Rear speakers are generally not that important. Lots of people don't bother with any at all. What model number speakers & amps?

Also try this site to help out with more questions. www.caraudio.com/vb

i agree with ^^^ get a separate amp...will sound so much better

or

connect the front channel to the fronts and the rear channel to the rear speakers and then get a hi/lo converter for your sub (assuming you dont have pre-outs on your deck)

FADE from the HU won't do a damn thing in this situation.

You shouldn't have any problems with that setup, I installed my friend's that way (because he was too cheap to buy a second amp )

Can you try to diagnose it? Take out the sub and rear wires and see how the fronts sound? That's where I would start.

Slick and ynot have it totally right. The sub shouldn't be running off the 4-channel's rear while the rear speakers are paired with the fronts. Either take the rears off the amp and just run them through the deck via stock wiring, or get a separate mono amp to run your subwoofer and put the rear speakers into the rear output on your 4-channel.

Definately get two amps instead of one if you can. Although it's not as cost effective, your speakers (which are awesome! JL is always a good pick, what models are they?) will thank you.

The only 4 or 5 channel amp i know of that really does everything it should perfectly is the "Belle" from Memphis Audio, and you really are paying for the equivilent of multiple amps with it. :/

but one of those 5 or 6 chan. amps will probably cost you more than buying one 4-chan and one 2/mono amp..

UPDATE!!!

I finally got my 5 channel AMP. Its Phoenix Gold. It works like a champ! And i can hear all channels all equally!

wow, dude never put subs and speakers on the same amp!

If you have a good deck, the preouts have set outputs (cross over built in where it only sends the lows to the subs).

Heres an idea, hook up your 4 channel rockford to all the speakers and purchase another 2 channel amp (bridged) and your good.

NEVER PUT SPEAKERS AND WOOFERS ON THE SAME AMP! NEVER NEVER! THATS STUPID
