Ok, I'll try my luck here. Well basically I went on my email account and attached a small .mp3 file [ringtonne] and sent it to my phone, the V360.

Now I opened the message, I think the the file is on there

I'm just wondering if the mp3 was actually sent? And if it did, how do I save it? I'm not seeing the "save as" in the menu.

Now if you wondering why don't I just do it by the USB cable and stuff, well I can. Its just that I won't be getting my new laptop replacement till around spring break and I'm using the computer lab's / library to get by in the mean time.

However, we aren't granted admin access which prevents my phone from being recognized as a modem and whatnot on the PC. And to make things even more complicated as it is, it's a prepaid account. So the usual 3gupload fixerupper ain't gonna work for me this time around since my WAP is obviously limited.

what phone is it?

Motorola V360!

check out a mobile file uploading site should do the trick if you have WAP

click the options button while viewing the message > then select "go to" > and if you have WAP it should activate and ask you to download...

I don't see the "go to" at all. But I was wondering, shouldn't I have received this as mms rather than a sms?

Because I sent it to myphonenumber@tmomail.net

Hahaha I feel stupid now. Well basically I found out the hard way... which was the most easiest way.

Basically I could upload the mp3 tones onto the TF card, but not to the phone itslef because the computers I have access to, are not the admin account that would allow me to have the phone show up as a modem.

So after trying just about every possible way to think of sending it the phone, I tried my luck via BT between two phones. As my luck turns out, the other phone died on me in the process.

So yea, I'm a bit "whyme" and all that. So before I went to look for the V551 charger, I still had the V360 in my hand. I notice that I could switch between the phone and TF in 'sounds'. That got the *lightbulb* in my head turned on. Could I just copy the tone on the memory card and just paste it to the phone memory? I switch over to the memory card, copied a tone, switch back over to the phone, and pasted the tone to it. Talk about

Sorry for the troubles. But I'm relieved. I don't have to wait a month or resort to buying the tones.

quick question does the v360 have to be on data/fax connetion to add ringtones to ur phone

Posted by: nekoneko

In my situation no. Basically the "data/fax connection" option is for the PC to recognized the phone itself as a modem to mod/edit using the MPT/RST/Pak2man/etc programs.

If you select the "Memory Card" option, you can upload ringtones, mp3s, and pics to the TF memory card. The computer should detect the USB connection as another 'drive'.

Well to actually update my last post, after playing with it more, instead of copying the tones with the method I described, I can just basically move the mp3 ringtones over to the Phone itself with the "move" option. Simple. Awesome.

I can worry about the skins and whatnot after I get my laptop next month.
