I recently got an MPX220. I upgraded to 1.49 ROM using the cingular .opr file following Omega's instructions. I have Media Net on this account and I can access the internet from the phone. However when there is no other service, I tether my PPC (HP 2215) to the phone to check email. I have done this with previous phone (V551) with no problem. But I having trouble with the MPX220. I can pair with the PPC using BT no problem, but I cannot connect to the internet. I have used wap@cingular.com, wap@cingulargprs.com, isp@cingular.com.
What am I missing?
Thanks in advance.

The gprs settings are in the FAQ. They're actually supposed to be in caps like so:
Username: WAP@CINGULARGPRS.COM
Password: CINGULAR1
Access Point Name: wap.cingular
Everything is case sensitive. Also, check the FAQ on that phone, I believe there is a specific option you have to enable to give it modem capabilities.

Here's the Cingular page that gives instructions for tethering your MPX220 & iPaq 2215: https://onlinecare.cingular.com/dev...la&model=MPX220

I have been able to connect to the Internet with MPX220 using BT with my laptop.
I used WAP@CINGLUARGPRS.COM, CINGULAR1. *99#
When I use those same setting on my PPC (HP 2215).
I get the following error:
Cannot connect for an unknown reason.
The connection page on Cingular only shows IR connection, nothing about BT.
Any suggestions?

Since the Cingular page only shows IR instructions, give that a try first. If it works, it may be for some weird reason that a BT tether connection does not work between the MPX220 & an HP 2215, while it does with your laptop.
