Ok, I'm sure many of you know my unlocked V635 with an AT&T SIM card inside is having trouble keeping it's service a lot. Now, EVERY single time you have it search by itself for the best network, it always registers Cingular and it ALWAYS has full service immediately after for a couple of minutes. So, I programmed the smart key on the left to go into Network Options, so I hit, then hit select to find network, and I'll get service. My question is - any possible way I can trick or make the phone automatically go into network options and search and register it by itself automatically every couple of minutes so I always have service?

I might be in the same situation, except I didnt get the v635 yet. I originally was an at&t customer, then cingular took over. I recently lost my phone, and cingular will not give me a phone unless I start a new plan with them, total bs. Especially when my two year contract will be up in june.
So my next thought was to buy my own phone. Did some research and really like the v635, found some decent prices on unlocked ones, and was going to buy tonight. I will also need to get an at&t sim card, becuase my plan was through them originally. Will I have the same problem as you? Unlocked v635, at&t sim card, cingular customer. No reception unless I constantly search for best network?

This probably doesnt belong here, but where is the best online place to buy a V635? I was checking ebay but would rather deal with a reputable online store.

i bought my v635 from mobilecityonline.com. a friend of mines works there, so i kknow they are reputable. thought they are based in NYC.
