Where did you get the 9300i? (Really a 9300i, and not a 9300, right?) No 850 band I presume?

Hey bigjigga,

Any opinions of the RF quality of the 9300i on the 1900Mhz band?

I used to have a 9300 and my signal reception would be terrible, with constant dropped calls and such.

I get a lot of prereleases like the nokia e62 and the p990 I got the 9300i from one of my sources and yes it's an i it has wifi the reception is great on t-mobile but on cingular it's kinda weak and ure right no 850 (I'll tripple check but no 850) like just sitting in my store I may get 1 bar if that on my Cingular SIM. I'm happy to report the edge is pretty nice on both T-Mo and Cingular but I've given up on the blackberry connect for now I'll just stick with my 9500 :-( this phone isn't buggy but for the life of me can't get BB connect to work and serveral phone calls to nokia cingular t-mobile and RIM get me "The phone isn't out how did you get it" or "Cingular doesn't support BlackBerry Connect" which is funny cuz my 9300 is using my cingular sim card with blackberry connect o well </rant>

BigJigga,
I think I'm going to buy a 9300i unless the E61 comes out in the next few days. I owned the 9500 for a while and found the WiFi to be almost useless. I am curious what you think of the speed of the WiFi on the 9300i versus the 9500?

Nokia is quite specific about what firmware versions the Blackberry Connect software will work with. Are you trying to use the 9300/9500 BB connnect software? Maybe you actually need a 9300i specific version.

Nokia BlackBerry Connect Client
S80_BlackBerry(5.249.0).SIS
Version 5.249.0, 13-Jan-2006
The Nokia BlackBerry Connect client will only work with phone software version 5.22(1), 5.22(6) and 5.22(7). To check your phone software version, please go to Telephone and type in “*#0000#”. If your phone software version is not 5.22(1), 5.22(6) or 5.22(7), please go to your nearest Nokia Service Center to get the appropriate software version on your Nokia 9300 / 9500.
