E Store purchase under 30 days, defective phone!

hi there, bought a Moto L7 about 2 weeks through cingular.com and for some reason the mic is not working, e store wants me to give another $200 for a re shipment of a replacement phone and once the defective phone arrives at the warehouse the $200 will be refunded. my concern in all of this is that the refunds take about 2-3 months for the refund to be given, im not to crazy about making the transaction as i dont want to pay interest for that money.

another solution is to call XBM and make a claim through them, i wonder since these phones are new will they send me a new one or just a refurbed one. i tend to like refurbed phones in the sense they are prooven to work before sent out. knock on wood, but i have yet to have a problem with a refurbed phone...

any ideas on what you would do would be greatly appreciated..

Wirelessly posted (Cingular 8125: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Symbian OS; Nokia 6682/4.62.0; 6936) Opera 8.50 [en-US] UP.Link/6.3.0.0.0)

xbm will tell you to return to cingular.com since its under the 30 days. besides credit card transactions are instant to refund.

in real world credit card transactions are instant but at cingular they take forever,

Try going to a corp store and tell them your situation.

I can already tell you that the store is going to tell you to deal with the estore people. It is really bad for cingular that they have everything so seperate.

the worst part in this that i work for cingular and i cant find a solution to this....i guess i just wanted to vent in this whole thing and see what other peoples advice is....

I guess it just depends on where you are.

When I first got my W600i around Christmas time, I had to buy it from the E-store since no B&M stores had the phone in stock (obviously, it was right before Christmas). It started giving me problems a few days before New Years, so I took it to a Corp store and they handed me a new phone right then and there.

The OP's problem sounds similar enough, so that's why I recommended taking that course of action.

1-866-391-0749 That's the number to cingular.com order support. Call them and they'll do an exchange for ya.

i know thats the number for cingular.com, but my issue is that i dont want to shell out another $200 for a replacement phone that cingular.com will send out, and once i return the damaged phone and they receive the phone they will issue a credit for the $200. i know of people and has happened to me that it takes months for a refunde to go back on a credit card or debit card. i dont think its fair that i have to fight for my money. ill try calling motorola and see what they tell me..

Im in the same boat as you my friend. My 8125 just went bad after 4 days of use. I had to shell out another $375 so they could send out a replacement phone. They are going to send me return labels so I can send this defective one back. I think its a pain in the *** to shell out that much money. But there is no other way CINGULAR told me. They said I could TRY and take it to a local store but they CAN'T guarantee that they would exchange it. They need to get their act together.

By the way I'm in Miami also. Kendall area here.
