I bought a Motorola SLVR L7 on ebay and there is no bluetooth function anywhere in the menu. What can i do? I have boot loader 08.D0. and firmware version: R4513_G_08.B7.5AR_RB_RFDI

Did you try the settings menu and then connectivity? That is where it is found on my L7

Posted by: rperreault

Yes I did but there is only syncronisation. I looked in the user manual and it seems bluetooth is missing in my phone.

Assuming that you looked on the main menu just under the multimedia menu? Bluetooth link is located there on my L&

Posted by: rperreault

Yes i did look in this place but I only see sync.

get it reflashed with a monster pack

What is the best place to get this done or can I do it myself?

how can BT be missing? weird..
pick a file (like picture) on your phone, and go to "menu" -> "copy" or "move", does it say Bluetooth?

No bluetooth anywhere.

You need to flash to the new Chinese version with US english. That one has Bluetooth.

Or the German retail flash, it has Bluetooth also.

I wouldn't recommend the German firmware.

Bluetooth doesn't seem to work too well for me (and several others on another forum). Computer syncing over Bluetooth absolutely doesn't work... I'm still waiting for my new headset, so I don't know if that work correctly or not. Long story short, my computer sees the phone and pairs with it, but the phone is telling the computer that it doesn't support ANY Bluetooth services.

Flashing with the US firmware seems to be the fix... I'll probably try it sometime in the next few days.

Hmm, I've had no Bluetooth issues with my German flashed L7.

Where might I find the US flash, and what version is it?

But it doesn't have US English.

Heh, and thats really a problem? There aren't that many differences.

The German firmware does have English menus as an option. You just have to choose which language you want.

On my phone, the only thing that isn't displayed in English is the "Quick Notes".

You're lucky.

I think it may have been on the MotoModders forum, where other people confirmed the same problem I'm having. Maybe there are slightly different versions of the German firmware?

I got this from someone on MottoModders. He claims that this fixed his Bluetooth problem, but I haven't had a chance to verify yet. The file name is:

R4513_G_08.B7.DCR_RB_LP0034_DRM0101_JPJAVA_L7_05_0 1_05R_GSTL7T676MH11E_1FF.zip

It's 13.2MB, so I don't think I can email it (too big for my email account). I could post it somewhere for download, if someone points me to a good (free) place.

I think he means US English, as opposed to just English. For example, my message page says "Message Centre" instead of the US versions "Message Center", small differences like that.

Gotcha... I was just happy that the alerts were no longer in German, so I completely ignored those small differences.

I'm just a bit slow right now... need to eat and get some sleep
