I have read more threads about the differences between PDA Connect and MediaNet, so may so that I am now utterly confused. I really wish someone could help me understand...

I have a Cingular 8100 (8125 without the camera). I have the PDA Connect Unlimited plan. Out of the box, the thing works. I can ActiveSync with my work's Exchange server over the air, I can send/receive my personal BellSouth email, and I can browse the internet using PIE.

When I setup my BellSouth email account settings on the phone, I had to choose a connection. MediaNet seemed to be the only one that worked. I think PIE is also going through MediaNet.

Where I'm confused is, since I'm paying $40/month for PDA Connect, should I input different settings, and if so, where? Should I get more speed going through a different proxy than MediaNet?

No on the phone settings it's still MediaNet. The difference of PDA Connect UNL vs MediaNet UNL is more on the billing end of things.

is media net unlmtd, unlimited for only a month? and after that its 5mb? or it it unlimited for the whole time your subscribed to it. because i also have pda connect, and just dont wanna get media unlimited and after a month or so i get a bill for over $500. I am also confused, someone should post a sticky explaining the difference .

the Unlimited MediaNet is 19.99 a month, unlimited, every month. works the same as the PDA Data plan. ive been on the Unlimited MediaNet with my Treo 650 for a year now with no over charges.
