Phone Disconnecting in Case

Hey guys,

I have a little problem that I can use a little help with please. I have about 3 phone cases at home and every time my phone is in one of them when I receive a call, I lift magnetic case flap and pull the phone out. During this process, the phone call is dropped and when I look at the phone, it is back to the wallpaper displaying my time. I believe that the magnet on the case has something to do with it because when I wave the magnet nearby the phone, approximately over the top right corner near the antenna, the phone will stop whatever it is doing, such as playing a ringtone or receiving a call. I call CS and they said they have never heard of a magnet causing a problem similar to this. I am 100% sure that the problem doesn't have to do with me accidently hitting buttons either.

Any help with this matter would be greatly appreciated.

P.S. I have also tried this exercise on a v710 and it has the identical problem.

Thanks in Advance,
-Josh

Josh,

What kind of phone do you have?

I have a E815.

Ok, I just put two and two together and got thinking... Inside of our phones is a magnet that tells the phone if it is open or closed. My theory is that both magnets are conflicting. My reasoning is when I hold the magnet from the case over the top right corner of the phone (near antenna), the outside screen shows "Verizon Wireless" upside down just as if the phone were open. Once I removed the magnet away from the phone, it once again displayed the time on the outside of the phone as if it were closed. The next thing I did was place the phone on speakerphone and put it back in the case. I called from my house phone and once it began ringing, I held the case magnet over the corner again. This time when I removed it, the phone was connected and I could hear myslef talking through the lan line. This proves my theory that the case magnet is conflicting with the flip sensor magnet.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this, or am I just going to have to use an exacto blade and cut out the magnets. Then I will replace with velcro strips. I just hate velcro for some reason...lol

I really can't imagine that out of all the cell phone users in the world, I am the only one with this problem, but you never know.

Thanks in Advance guys,
-Josh
