When you're in video camera mode hit menu, change "video length" to MMS, then go to message center, hit menu, pick inbox setup, pick mms message setup, pick size limit, and pick none. Now your video size is limited only by free space on the phone.

isn't there a way to set it for unlimited on the Tflash? like seem editting 004e_0001?

Posted by: big wheezy

Note I edited my post, I forgot you have to pick inbox setup, then mms setup

Posted by: phattbam

I think that setup applies only to V3's not on L7's, I remember that setup and I dont see it on my L7.

I'm almost positive this worked on my friends new SLVR, I'm pretty sure it was one of the things i set up for him, worst case there's a couple seems that would need edited to add the menu options back in if they aren't there:
SEEM 0032_0001
offset 7F - bit 0: Message > Message Setup > MMS Message Setup, Size Limit (1 on, 0 off)

offset 82 - bit 7: Multimedia > Videos > Videos Setup > Video Length (1 on, 0 off)

Posted by: markogin

Yup! the option is not in the menu

i use P2K Advanced Editor
under the Video option, just set it to about 20MB -40MB filesize limit

i set mine to 20MB.. for probably around 20 mins of video.. 100MB doesn't work it just hang the phone.... someone else can try it out more.

My offset 82 is already on, I turned on offset 7F but it just added a file size option in the receiving MMS................isn't this an outgoing size option?? Thanks

Guys: do not go beyoung 10 meg in recording cuz U need to remember that this L7 is not windows-xpsp2 machine, so it does not have enough memory to deal with large file.
now that what U'all need to edit:
SEEM 004e_0001

**all offsets are HEX**
**no bit manipulation here, just change the actual value in the offset**
offset 412 - controls video record file size when phone setting is "maximum"

set to 01 for a max size of ~1 Megabyte (0100hex = 1024 kilobytes = 1 mb)
set to 14 for a max size of ~5 Megabytes (1400hex = 5120 kilobytes = 5 mb)
set to 28 for a max size of ~10 Megabytes (2800hex = 10240 kilobytes = 10 mb)
etc.

also remember to set video length to max (Video Camera->menu->videos setup->video length-> set to Maximum

Good luck

isnt there a way to set it so it fills the capacity of the Transflash card? I recall I once recorded 26mins on high quality on my V635 which has a 1.3 MP camera so the file was HUGE

Posted by: almozaffar

yes it's already set so, just pay attention to the camera number which tell U how many time U can recoed oer settings U have, meaning if set that SEEM 004e to record high quality Ur number will be lower than the SLVR without video-modding.

I first have say that I do not have a memory card yet; that is on its way, but changing the value of the offset to 28 just got me like 40 sec of video...........is that because I am saving the video on the phone you think?

Posted by: markogin

I think the easiest thing would be to find the seem that can add the video size option in the outgoing MMS settings

Posted by: markogin

Any idea?????

Until you get the memory card, you'll be limited to the free space you have left on the phone. That's why even tough you edited the seem, it stops at 40s.

Editing the seem to 28 did in fact work. I have about 100 megs left on my card and when I start the video cam, the meter says 10 remaining.

100 MB / 10 videos = 10 MB/video

I did a test run and recorded a 3 minute video and it works like a charm. And the length meter was still way down.

Just wait until you get the memory card and you'll see!

Best of luck!

OK,

but I have about 3mb free on the phone and it still won't record more than 40 seconds..............that's odd, isn't it?

Posted by: wizziko

as well-known issue for all high-tech hardwares, there is "safety memory" each one has to keep, so the operating system will work fine, or it'll crash each time U flood the memory with video recording or veiwing. I was able to put whole movies on flash cards and the L7 would start showing the movie, but after 10-20 mgb the system will freeze, and this is pretty much like any PC, if it's old U will not be able to enjoy watching DVDs; the same goes to L7, so just use video of 10-15 mgb maxx, and U can see the whole movie in ten segments.

Posted by: markogin

OK,

I am still waiting for my flashcard

Posted by: markogin

Besides..............I don't even know why am being so anal about it, I won't even use that feature that much.............I guess I am just a phone freak!!

Got my 512mb flash card and it works perfectly I can record long video and I also installed mp3 files with no problem and I must say the sound quality of the speakerphone is pretty good considering that it's a phone. Does anybody know how long will the battery last playing mp3s?
