I know its kinda of an old phone but i had a question? Will this phone(Motorola V635) work with Cingular. I kinda think it does but i heard from other people that since its not a cingular phone the phones internet will not work. Just wonderin, Thanks in advance for the help

yes it will work but you may not be able to download games and ringtones from cingular though. only from cingular but you can from others

Sure, everything works, but you need to mod your phone a little....

your Z500 is a much better performer than the V635, even those loaded with the cingular sw

I've owned both a V635 and a Z500. The V635 spanks the Z500 in every way possible.

IHAP's been hittin' the V635 haterade again.......

My V635 works fine with Cingular though my GPRS doesn't work. I'm glad, since I have no need for it.

Data will work, you just need to input the settings.The V635 is capable of utilizing GPRS/EDGE. IHAP....not again. Typing this on my V635 was a PITA!

The v635 has beaten or done as well as every Cingular phone i've tried when it comes to reception . Which include the z500,v3,x497,6102,d357,v557,6620,v551,6010,3120 in the current or recently retired list. YMMV and it may also depend on which version of the v635 you get but i would pick a v635 over every phone in the current lineup. In fact i have.

The only two complaints I have about the V635 is poor battery life and slow web browser. Other than that, the flexibility that the Motorola hacks give it, plus all its features, sound quality and RF performance puts this phone high above many others.

Just think that by modding your Motorola to disable AMR HR you can make it sound better than any other Cingular phone out there. In addition, with all the hacks you can do to a Motorola, you can make this phone do anything a Cingular branded phone can do, including downloading Cingular ringtones, games, etc. and use GPRS, EDGE and even CSD if you want to. You can even get the new personalized MEdiaNet page!
