ActiveSync 4.1 = utter crap. Leaves Outlook processes open

I'm sure others have noticed this. When you connect your phone/PDA, ActiveSync starts up a couple Outlook.exe processes.. and LEAVES them open, even after sync is done, AND even if you disconnect your device. Nice. That eats up about 40MB, at least for me. And each time you resync, it just adds more outlook.exe processes.. one time I had about 8-10 of them running.

Programmers at MS need to be slapped a bit.

Wow! That is rediculous. Rule#1 of good programming is to free up resources (memory) once finished with them. Pretty poor for Microsoft.

You should file an error report at their support site.

I don't have this problem on my PC.

Interesting. I've had this problem years ago when I bought my first iPaq, too. Hmm..

never had that problem. When i sync and have the device in the cradle it keeps 1 open and even if i click the Outlook icon there's no other that opens. It stays there cuz i have ActiveSync set on continuous sync but as soon as i take the device out the exe disappears.

So submit something to MS as i'm sure it's not designed to do that. I've never had that problem using Outlook 97, 98, 2000, xp, 2003 or now Outlook 2007.
