All Treo 600 T-Mobile UsERS PLEASE HELP GOING CRAzy...

Hey everyone I am a new Treo 600 owner. The phone is a cingualr unit but it is unlocked I have 3 problems
1) The phone will only make and recieve calls when it is plugged into the, if it is not plugged into the wall it will not make or take calls, it will tries to call and beep several times then hang up. However it will take and send text messages.
2) My data cable will only Sync like 1 out of 10 tries
3) I can not afford that dam,n 29.99 data plan from t-mobile. Can I down Opera mini and use T-zone to surf the web, if so How do I download that Java apps that lets me use... other java apps.
Any help would be a great relief.
Oh.. got the phone used off of ebay,
the updates are 1.12CN
