Don't let your gf use your 903!

My gf and I trade using cell phones from time to time cuz she likes using my 903. Tonight, she calls me up and tells me that my 903 is acting up and that's why I couldn't contact her. She comes home a few hours later and I open the phone and it keeps turning itself on and then turning off. It keeps doing this back and forth and doesn't stop until I take out the battery. If you try to turn it back on, the same thing happens. I was freakin out cuz the guy I bought the phone from lives in Santa Barbara which is like an hour and a half away from L.A. I'm trying to keep cool but I'm so f'n pist off right now and I'm trying so hard not to show it. She said one of her stupid *** friends was using it last before the problem happened. What could have caused this. I just got back from my parents house to get my old Samsung E715 to use until I can fix my 903. I have some important #'s that I didn't save on my sim and are on the 903 that my dumb *** didn't save so I'm pretty much screwed. Is there anyway to fix this w/out reflashing it? Please Help!

Ouch! I don't think it's anything that your gf, or her friend did...sounds like bad firmware that co-incidentally started going funky at the same time she borrowed it.

you can try doing a master reset or like a reboot by pressing keys "#" and power button simultaneously while it is switched off. unfortunately it will delete any data you saved on ur handset.

SHYT! SHYT! SHYT! Thanks for the advice guys. I started to reboot it but I'm just so tired and I have school in the morning so I'll finish the reboot later today (It's 2:30 am here in L.A.). I know I lost everything that wasn't saved to my mini sd or sim so I'm pretty much screwed there. I have a pretty hectic schedule tomorrow so I know it's gonna take me forever to put in all the wap/sms/mms settings. I just noticed something, if you don't let the 903 finish rebooting and take out the battery and put it back in to turn it on, it turns off and on like when my gf first brought it home earlier last night. I know it's sounds pretty unlikely, but maybe it could be a slight coincidence that one of her stupid azz friends held the # and power buttons simulataneously and didn't know what she did. I'll probably never know what went wrong because what's worse than having a glitchy 903 is a gf in biotch mode after accusing her of almost killing your phone. I feel like messing up her W900 now. Anybody know how to purposely glitch up a Sony Ericsson? lol

dunk the w900 in water and tell her the battery just went flat

aiee. sometimes glitches like that happens.. can't be prevented. just bad luck. just do the format, power + #. and all should be okay. if it still doesn't work. bring it back tot he guy.

i had a client who was mucking around with wap and surfing and suddenly it did that. the reason is a bit unknown but its a relatively easy fix unless it persists.

surfing around on the wireless web...damn cell phone computer viruses. lol. j/k

although, didn't some kid in russia figure out how to make cell phone viurs?

Good news. Everything is back to normal except for the phone numbers I lost on the phone. My wap/sms settings are working fine. Still having trouble receiving video msgs but I guess it's just a t-mobile issue. I can send but not receive video msgs. Picture msgs are ok. I've asked about that before but no one ever really had a straight answer on that. Oh well you win some you lose some. I got an answer back from the guy who sold the phone to me. He told me if I couldn't get it fixed he was gonna give me a Toshiba 803t but I'd have to bring back the 903 and give him a $45 difference. I'm glad I didn't have to go that route. The 803t sucks compared to a 903sh. 803's top screen is kinda cool though.

Tell you guys, my 903sh was a little bit weird too. For the past few days my phone does not ring even though I have set the profile to normal and all ringing volumes are at maximum. I was really mad and I tried to restart and again it seems that the speaker is at fault. I took the battery out and place the handset close to the boiler and after one hour put back the battery and fire up the handset. Guess what? Everything is back to normal! I have no idea what happened...

How do you avoid a mobile virus? I've never heard of such a thing before. Is there an anti-virus I can download to my 903 for protection?

Posted by: yis903unposubl

just stop visiting those porn sites with ur phone and u should be fine. lol

Posted by: Timsta

LOL.. there's not antivirus for our phones. if you had a pocket pc phone.. u could get norton for it.

i would never in a bleallion years let my gf borrow my precious phone, ecspecially the 903. girls + electronics = negative integers.

hey guys, don't mean to hijack the thread but I got a question!
i've read from some other forum that after doing a format boot (power + #), you
will have to unlock your 903 again... is this true??

WAAAAAAT i'm a girl and i have a 903, i let my dad borrow it and he ruined it.. when my dad played with my phone it did exactly the same thing with the turning off and on.. back then i didn't think it was a glitch..i even did the master reset but nothing happened.. A WEEK AFTER.. it went back to normal by itself.. THANK GOD.. unless i pressed something that i didn't know about.. but yeah... girls + electronics???? i'm a tech freak and i don't think i'm an airhead who doesn't know how to take care of a simple thing as a phone..especially something as precious as my 903.. heck with all the things you have to do w/ this phone all the mp3 problems, settings, converting movies to 3gp... i'm surprised i didn't break down or had my brain fried from just trying to get the phone up and running.. clapping: so i don't think it's justifiable to say that electronics get ruined cuz a 'girl' handles it.. it all depends on the person (:

Posted by: ChunkyRice

whoa!!! feel the female fury of the one from above. ^^

not all girls ruin electronics, just most.

as for what happened to this guy... glad to hear everything's back to normal.

Posted by: marco712

lol, not all girls dont' care about electronics, my friendknows enough about phones to know what features she's looking for... she just doesn't treat her phones very well. For eg, when i first got my 903... she looked at my phone a couple of times... and when she closed it she literally slammed it shut! , but she treats her NOKIA about the same haha sooo ya

Posted by: UncleAllEvil

It depends on person. I would say that girls can offen do something wrong by accidence/lack of knowledge but so do men. Lots of them! I know few guys that can destroy every phone in short time.
However, I won`t lend my phone (the one I`m actually using) for longer time to anybody. My phone is my personal organiser and like my wallet, should be with me
