Cingular 8125 poor signal strength/no network

Am I the only one that is completely dissatisfied with the signal strength on this thing? I am in Poenix, AZ and get no coverage at home or at work.

i have yet to use one, but you are the first ive seen with this complaint, mostly everything ive read is that people happy with the strength.

What other phone do you have that has better signal strength in your location? My Nokia has by far the best reception out of any phone I have, with Moto's Razr close second. The 8125 reception is as good, if not better, as the Razr. 3 of my older phones wouldn't even pick up any signal in this area I frequent, while I can make calls with 8125 all day long.

My 8125 blow everything else that I have out of the water when it comes to reception. In a place that I go to a couple of times a week with my V3 I get 0-1 bars, Treo 650 2-3 bars, 8125 4 bars. No complaints on reception from me. I love this phone.

I'll let you know later this after noon. FedEx is due to drop mine off any minute now.

I live in North Phoenix. Cingular's coverage has only been getting better up here over the past couple years.

I have not had much success either. Internet is slow as molasses and I have the high priced data package. I don't know if it is because of our building or what. However it does seem slow even with several bars. I am located between Memphis and Nashville.

My 8125 does as good if not better than my Moto V551. My data center is in the basement of our building and I just recieved an email. I am not in a large metro area either.

I must also say that the 8125 switches between towers much better than my V551 did. I have not lost a call due to switching towers on the 8125 and was disconnected routinely when using the V551.

My Nokia 6230 has great reception nearly everywhere, my wife's Motorola V557 has poor reception, but still gets a signal. The 8125 is getting no signal inside my office & @ home. Maybe a got a bad 8125?

Try your internet connectivity during different time of the day. I find I tend to get faster speed at the offpeak hours.

I'm just strictly talking about my GSM signal strength. Most of the time it shows current network is searching for a signal. At sporadic intervals I may see up to 3 bars of signal strength. But that only will last maybe for a minute. Do you guys see the signal fluctuate that much when you are remaining in a fixed location.

I get no reception with my 8125 when my wife's RAZR gets 2-3 bars. its frustrating...

i get way better signal then my moms razr and dads slvr even with my old v600 which was great, this thing blows em away.

when i went skiing, @ the cabin i got 1 or 2 bars with my razr but i got full reception with my 8125. everywhere else it's either on par or a lil better.

I finally got but 8125 today. After and hour and a half working with Cingular on my migration to Orange, I got it up and running.

The signal for me is about on-par with my SMT-5600. I show 2-3 bars around the house on the 8125 and the F9200 shows 100% signal (like 8 bars).

Admittedly I've only had it a couple hours now but the call audio quality sounds good and I didn't have any problem pairing up my BT headset. I was estatic to se voicetags work .

my 6682 is better than the 8125 in rf

RF issues on the 8125...
- Signal strength fluctuates.
- RAZR mainly has "full bars"

Both phones operate on the 850 MHz band, 1900 MHz is weak in my area. No noticeable lose audio qualityfrom the 8125 when the "bars" are low. I'm comparing two Cingular accounts (AT&T Wireless and Cingular Orange) side by side, but the very possibility that these two SIM cards are operating on different channels on the 850 MHz band exists so I can't make any real conclusions based on looking at the "bars".

The wizard, and I think a few other pocketpc's, have this radio problem where it takes a bit of time to search for the network. So say one minute I have 2 bars and hit a spot where I lose reception, then i walk outside where I get full reception, but I have to wait a good 15-30 seconds while it searches before I get that full reception.

I get great reception all around the Metro Greenville, SC area...

Compared to the treo, this thing is a godsend reception-wise. Boston, ma.

At work where reception was always marginal with the SMT-5600, the 8125 holds strong at 3-4 bars.

The phone seems to get better signal with the keyboard flipped out.

I haven't noticed anything drastically bad. My experience has been quite positive.

I got my 8125 last Friday and had a strong signal all weekend at home and I live in the mountains. Today at work I had widely fluctuating signal strength and lost service all together at least a dozen times. As far as I know, that never happened with my Treo. I am going to take both of them to work tomorrow and compare the two. It's weird - the 8125 would go from no service to 4 bars in a few seconds and I did not move from my desk.

I live in north phoenix as well and have had the same issues where i'm not getting signal. Mainly at my parents, when i had my RAZR i had full signal. now, i get nothing and my wife (on the same plan as me) is using her RAZR and still gets full signal while standing right next to me and mine saying "searching". I called and no one has an answer. I posted this earlier too and people PM me and said i was dumb.
