Will flashing my phone improve anything?

I am wondering if flashing my Razr will improve anyhthing. I think my flash version is R374_g_0E.42.0.7R_A. Also will flashing to a Cingular monster pack improve anything for me? I am currently on cingular with an unlocked, unbranded phone.

Another question, I have had a bad speaker crackle happening lately when people talk, or you press buttons on the phone. It started all of a sudden one day when I brought the menu up, the speaker made a weird beep. Could this be software related, or defintely the speaker/hardware? The phone was only 10 days old, never gotten wet or dropped. Could flashing fix this?

Do I need MPT to flash? I will buy a data cable soon. Thanks for the help, I'm knew to all this.

Did you edit the gain file too loud??? Maybe you can call to have it replace, it got a 1year warrenty. (SP)

I haven't modded the phone other than putting games and ringtones on it. I've never modified the gain table. I can send the phone into motorola, it is under warranty. I was just wondering if flashing it could possibly fix it first.
