Ok, I've been heavily modding my phone now (full screen picture ID, gain table, overhauled the Techno skin, homescreen layout, cleared useless stuff for much more memory, etc etc...)

Now all that's left is the startup/shutdown screens and sounds and ringer ID.

First, the SU/SS screens. I know I should use MotoKit or others to change the screens and sounds, but how do I back up the old default ones? I tried browsing the roots and all folders of 'a\' and 'c\' but I can't find them, nor can I find the startup sound file. I believe they're called custwakeup.gif and custgoodbye.gif or just wakeup.gif and goodbye.gif. Where are these files in the L7?

Second, the ringer ID. How do I change the ringer ID so that it just applies to CALLS and not text messages also? I mean, some of my ringtones are 45 seconds and I don't want a text message notification to last that long... I use the windchime tone for texts. I checked XLR8's SEEM mapping and found nothing.
