Hello,
I've got a european spec Razr V3i (T-mobile,UK) and I'm unable to transfer songs from my iTunes library to my phone. Every time I attempt to transfer, a message appears stating "cannot transfer folder".

Could someone be kind enough to explain how to rectify this problem. As I am a 'techno virgin', can you PLEASE keep your answers simple.Thank you.

Julie

The USB setting on the phone must be set to Memory Card. Once you are in iTunes, all songs and videos must be "dragged and dropped" onto where it says "(your name's) Mobile Phone. Drag a folder onto the cell phone spot and drop it........it will auot update from there.

If you do alot of songs it takes wuite a long time for the process to complete.
Hope this helps

is yours v3I, the itune version.

if yes, connect your phone to the PC with the itune installed, you phone must have the usb setting set at memory card, as mention above by red dragon.
wait a few minute the itune program should come on automatically, unless you disable the auto function.

when itunes in your PC comes on, look to the left hand side where you will see a list of wording, you should see you name pop up somewhere in the middle(starts to flash in red), what you need to do is click library, where all your songs should be, if not, look for all your song and direct the link to the library.

from the library use your mouse highlight the song, hold down the right mouse button, and drag the song to your name on the left.

Are you using the iTunes PC/MAC application to transfer your songs? If not, you need to download it and install it. This is the only way to put music onto the iTunes folder on your phone. Using Windows Explorer does not work.

Hope this helps....JL

Good Morning,

What splendid people you all are. Thank you for your assistance. My phone hasn't got the iTunes Mp3 player, just a basic player...

After much tearing out of hair and gnashing of teeth! I found a music website that enabled me to download songs onto my phone without the grief that comes with iTunes

As for this wonderful site, I will be spending a lot of time on it, in order to educate myself.

Huge kisses

you do not need to go into these music website to download music.

on the phone go menu/setting/connections/usb setting and change to data and fax connection.
connect the data cable to phone and PC, the phone will show up as a storage media on the PC, E: drive or removable storage eg. open this drive you will see a mobile folder in this folder are subfolders with pictures, sounds, kjava etc.

all you have to do is drag mp3 from your PC in to the sound folder.

mp3 can be rip from cd etc. and save into PC.

an added extra info, if you have any java game with the extention jar., copy it in the kjava folder.
turn the phone off then on.
goto games and apps from the main menu click "install new" choose the saved jar game and install.
