i am awaiting the arrival of my smt 5600 from cingular. i have read around that the max memory capacity for the sd card is 256 meg. is this true? i have seen 2 gig cards on ebay that claim to be compatible with the 5600. also, i want to use soundforge et al to make my own 30 second mp3 clips for ringtones like i did with my moto v3 via mobile phone tools (moto app) is there something like that with the 5600? thanks.

Wirelessly posted (HTC-2125/1.2 Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 4.01; Windows CE; Smartphone; 176x220))

no its 1gig and you can still use that software just put the mp3 clip on the phone

thanks for the speedy reply cj. so i can use motos mobile phoone tools to dump the clip to the audiovox?? and what about enabling the java loader to load apps and games?

Posted by: cjmedina

well you cant use moto tools to dump the file on there. but you can use moto tools to make the clip and then thru active sync drag and drop. as for java i just use a website to load it up and download from like mobstorage

excellent. thanks again. i appreciate the help

OK, after much greuling effort, a few carefully placed words and not a few beers oh, and a complete C drive wipe and clean reinstall of xp pro, i got activesync to work. i can now drag and drop files with impunity. what i cant figure out is how to take the 30 second mp3 files i made and make them my ring tone on the 5600. Any suggestions?

you open active sync and then open mobile device look for storage, then sounds and drop it in there

yeah, that gets it onto the device, which i knew, but in the sounds option field, where you select your ringtone, all thats in there are the standard crappy tones that ship with the device

what type of ringtone is it?
and as far as a i know it needs to be placed in the Application Data/Sounds folder
