Need a replacement phone without new service

Hello out there! I have had problems with a 2 year old LG flip phone (not a bad phone, probably just dropped too many times). The guy at the kiosk in the Mall told me to go on Ebay to buy a "GSM, unlocked, AT&T wireless compatible" phone so I can just switch the SIM card and start using my new phone without a new service plan.

I'm afraid I will pay $175-$250 for a new phone and have it not work out.

Is this a good idea? Will it work? Is there anything else I should be aware of?

Options I would like in a new phone: camera, color, long battery life.

Any sort of advice on where to buy, or even what brand etc would be great!

Check out ebay if you want to buy one with out a plan just spent 200 on me a new phone only buy form people that offer doa protection i had a defective one had to send it back waiting on them to send me a new one this week so.

Ever heard of punctuation?

Ebay is generally pretty safe. Don't buy from anyone who says they are from Nigeria, or require Western Union payments.

If you are uncomfortable with ebay, check our BST forums. There are plenty of good phones at great prices.
