Hi, I just got my cingular 8125 and i called the cingular today to add the medianet unlimited service to my phone. I have read on the forum somewhere that i can use medianet unlimited instead of the PDA plan (which is way too expensive).

i tried to add the connection and and when it comes to select moden, i selected "cellular line GPRS", and then it ask me for "access point name" and next page ask for username and password. I don't have any of these information so i don't know how to configure for my cingular 8125 to go online via the MediaNet. can someone please help me?????????

many thanks in advance

The 8125 should come pre-configured with MediaNet settings (mine did). These are the settings, which are the same on every Cingular phone for MediaNet access:

Access Point: wap.cingular (lower case)
User Name : WAP@CINGULARGPRS.COM (Upper case)
Password : CINGULAR1 (Upper case)

Should you wish to use the proxy setting it's wireless.cingular.com:80 (speeds up EDGE but doesn't play nice with WiFi connections).

yeah, you shouldn't need to do anything to your phone at all - just start up IE and surf.

Wirelessly posted (Mobile Monster: HTC-8100/1.2 Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows CE; PPC; 240x320))

since you just switched plans and not service providers you shouldn't have to worry about the change. it will be a change that cingular makes in their billing system, so you just need to pick up the phone and have fun!
