My v600 is acting up, what is wrong?

With every single call I make on my v600, it drops it after no more than 8-9 minutes. Without failure, everytime. It is getting ANNOYING. Sometimes I will be having a long convo and I have to continually call the person back over and over again. I called TMobile and they said that this is a known issue with the v180, v300 and v600 on their network and they have acknowledged the problem. They suggested I get a new phone...
Before I do this, would a new firmware fix this problem? Any ideas?

Possibly yes, updating your phone to the latest firmware usually irons out wrinkles that the provider leaves in.
