Uppercase defaulting when texting, what gives?

Just received my black L7 (non-iTunes "for now") and have been gently tweaking it all day. Along the way I've had text messages come in, and every time I go to reply, it defaults to iTap English in uppercase mode. Is there any way I can have that default to "proper case" so I don't have to change it? I've looked through the seem edits, but nothing jumped out at me.

Any help would be appreciated.

no offence or anything, but your looking for help in the wrong areas. you dont need to look in the seem edits for help, as the owners manual gives instructions on how to disable or change this, when your writing a message, weater its a reply or new, just click the middle = button at an empty screen, entry setup, change primary setup to tap english. to toggle upper/lower case, the 0 key will do that for you when youre entering letters.

LOL, yes thanks I know all that. I guess I didn't explain my problem specifically enough.

What I need to know is how to set up the phone so that it doesn't default to "uppercase" iTap every time I reply or begin a new message. My PEBL doesn't do it, the L6 I had didn't do it, nor did the v551, v635, ROKR, or e398's. It should be "proper case" (start with a capital letter, then lowercase until you change it, or finish a sentence with punctuation.
