V3x Cingular MMS problems

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

I just bought a 3 branded v3x. I can Send MMS's to people and they receive them no problem but when they send me an MMS I can't receive it. It says "Unable to Download Try Again Later". I checked the settings over and over again and Im positive that they are correct. I used the OTA from Cingular for both MMS and Internet settings.

Can anyone help?

Anyone with a V3x on cingular did you have this problem?

Anyone?

Hello,
I don't know if you ever got an answer to your dilemma but you can download this guide http://rapidshare.de/files/20429150...060512.doc.html and it will explain what you need to do in order to receive MMS messages. You can also go to this thread and research the background of this solution. http://www.motomodders.net/Default....w=topic&tpage=1

The settings and modifications work so good luck.

I upload all the certs, j2m3, root_cert and set them all to atrib 4. but i still get error 403 access denied. They have my new IMEI, does that make a difference?

Them having the new IMEI doesn't really mean anything, might wanna verify MMS is on the account. Although since this phone hasn't been released for Cingular I tihnk if you can't figure out what's wrong you may be S.O.L.

OK, You're almost there!

Remember, you need to do a couple of other things besides uploading the Certs and registry file.

1. You have to upload the 0117_0001 SEEM that makes your V3x look like a V3. Use P2K Manager to upload the SEEM. Get the 0117_0001 SEEM from here: http://rapidshare.de/files/17971091/0117_0001.seem.html. MAKE SURE YOU KNOW HOW TO UPLOAD SEEMS before you do this step!!!!! There are SEEM editing guides on the forum.

2. You have to upload the web session that contains the HTTP web session profile and make it your default web session. Get it from here: http://rapidshare.de/files/20404972/WebSession.html and upload it to a/ on your phone. This will overwrite your existing websession file. Select the one named "MEdianet" and make it your default web session.

Verify these settings:

Name: MEdianet
Homepage: http://device.home
Service Type1: HTTP
Gateway IP 1: 066.209.011.032
Port 1: 80
Domain 1: Blank

3. Last thing you must do is this from paragraph 1.6.1.1.4 of the guide:
MMS Messages

(a) Select Messaging > Create Message > Options > Setup > Message Setup > MMS Setup > Server Info: Current Server>Options>Edit:

(b) Rename one of the existing servers to MMS and edit it so that it looks like the following:
• Service Name: MMS
• Server Name: http://mmsc.cingular.com
• Web Session Name: MEdianet (this is the name of my HTTP websession that you uploaded earlier)

When you back out you’ll see the Current server as MMS (checked). Continue to back out and you’ll see the following on the MMS Message Setup screen:
• Composing MMS
• Receiving MMS
• Server Info: MMS

(c) Restart your phone and test it by attempting to send and receive an MMS message to yourself. You can use one of the MMS templates to send to yourself. When you receive your message, read it and then Click options>download. After a couple of seconds you will see the MMS template you sent yourself. Believe me, this works so don't get discouraged.

It takes longer to write and read these instructions than it does to actually do them. After doing these things you will be able to receive MMS messages. Let me know when you get it working.

Did all the above. Same error code, checked and double checked.. Am I missing something?

Sorry Podna,

If you did everything in the instructions, your MMS receive should be working. I don't know why you're having problems. Wish I could help you more but I'm out of solutions. Sorry.
