So I've got a brand new RAZR from Verizon last week and its got the newest firmware V3 that is giving me fits
... I've tried Mike's recommendations with no success as well as many other posts. Ive used the recommended drivers and can connect with BITPIM... I can add tunes in any directory except Motorola/shared/audio. BitPim give me the error shown below
-------------------
BitPim version: 0.8.08-official
An unexpected exception has occurred.
Please see the help for details on what to do.
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "gui.pyo", line 217, in run
File "gui.pyo", line 157, in __call__
File "gui.pyo", line 2047, in writefile
File "com_brew.pyo", line 523, in writefile
File "com_brew.pyo", line 735, in sendbrewcommand
File "p_brew.pyo", line 154, in readfrombuffer
File "prototypes.pyo", line 208, in readfrombuffer
ValueError: The value read should be a constant of 89, but was 19 instead
--------------
When adding tunes in other directories like Motorola/shared/ringtones, I can add the tunes but after deleting the two required files (which get recreated) I cannot access the new tunes anywhere. I know they've been added because if I reconnect later I can see them and delete them.
Do I need to do a SEEM edit in order to get past this or has Verizon won this battle?

Wow.. Nobody has any ideas on this one

Its probably because most of the Verizon V3 users hang out in the Verizon/moto group here.
No. Seem edits will NOT help bitpim.
Suggestions...
1. use BVRP's driver tool...
2. make sure your cable is plugged into a USB port on your system board, and NOT into a USB hub, or "front" port on your case..
3. Try P2KCommander v3.22 or v3.26 instead to access that directory... But even then, that isn't that stable with CDMA phones.
4. Try QPST (if you can find it) instead to access that directory.
4. Seem edit your phone (if you have .03 firmware) and switch to MPT, its more compatible.
Keep in mind... BitPim really doesn't work too well with Moto phones... It does better with LG, Samsung, etc... So don't expect it to be 100% stable.
