I went to activate a SK2 (Bought it used) today and it wouldn't work. The manger said it was because they're getting ready for the SK3, and only could get me a pre-paid account to work. I did watch the lady try to make me a txt/data plan, so I don't think she was being stupid. I'm hoping the manager's word's do have some validity, as I'll probably be giving this SK to a friend soon and buying the new one.

Don't previous model Sidekicks still work? I know the 2.3 update doesn't affect them (I believe) but they are still functional. I don't think they will just "shut down" the SK2 just because the SK3 is coming out.....eventually. No offense but could you not get post paid because of your credit situation? Why would they have a prepaid account but not post paid? Doesn't add up......

That is complete and utter BS! You were lied to OR the manager is incompetent. The SK2 you have most likely hasn't been completely cleared of data and the IMEI transferred to your account. I've seen two used SK's (CSK and SK2) activated over the last two weeks.

Most likely they did this to get you to purchase a new SK2 and thus get a fatter commission. Call T-Mobile CS, get transferred to the Wireless Data Group and they will get you setup in short order. Be sure to use another phone to call with as you will be resetting/restarting the SK2 before it's done.
