I have gone through pages of the forums trying to find answers to some of my questions. And some of my questions have been partially answered in previous posts. So here are my questions.
1. How to connect to a wifi network, I can connect to the network get an IP but cannot browse or get email (read a post where this was answered but just confused me more .. i need it dumbed down a bit)
2. I cannot seem to receive and IR or bluetooth info beams, what are the settings to ensure I can receive beams. I am able to send beams just fine.
3. What bluetooth headsets work well with this phone and can play audio files through the headset?
Thank You all for your help!

1. Make sure your proxy setting has been unchecked.
2. Make sure your Bluetooth is set to discoverable.
3. I use H700 and havent had any issues.

Not sure about your particular problem, but I have noticed that when trying to connect to linksys wrt54g wireless routers, I get an IP address, but I do not get a DNS server, this will prevent you from doing any network browsing based on names, rather then IP's.
I recently replaced the cingular rom with the aku2 rom, that resolved my issues with the wireless stuff though, but that may be beyond your capabilities.

I thought by unchecking the proxy you are actully slowing the upload because of compression rates? or something like that.

Thanks for the responses, I actually am using a linksys wrt54g router so I will try the aku2 rom to see if that resolves it. So no problems with the H700? I read in a previous thread that headset was having issues with making repeat calls and everytime you make a call with it you have to soft reset the phone. How is the H700 for playing music?

with the wrt54g - you need to make sure your security is NOT set to WPA+AES (or WPA2) on the router.

thanks for the info I got the wifi working. Now does anybody know how to get audio files to play through an H700 bluetooth headset? I just bought it and for making calls its great but I know there are some headsets that play the audio through them. I thought the H700 was one of those, but I am either mistaken on that or there is some sort of setting or hack I have to do to get that function to work. Any help??
