hi ! i have a motorola v400 phone and i used the data cable for transfering stuffs few weeks back. but now when i connect the data cable, windows xp doesnt detect that an USB is connected. my windows xp doesnt even tell that it has detected an unknown device. Im sure that this is not a driver problem bcos i used the same driver few weeks back to transfer. i opened the data cable and and saw that the connections have not gone off. can anybody figure out the problem and help me ??? my mail id is ssankaran@gmail.com. thanks.

I had a similar problem with the cable that came bundled with my Smith Micro Quicklink Mobile Phonebook. I then replaced the cable with the one I got with my Motorola Phone Tools. The first cable had a push button that had to be engaged whenever connecting or disconnecting the phone. The second cable had no such button requirement. And the best thing is the that second cable works with both software!
