Let me start by saying AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHH HHHHH
okay, with that said, i will tell you my tale of woe and utter frustration re: activesync and my new 5600. Got phone, installed a.s. 3.7. install terminated abruptly with an error "gong" but no error message. tried to reinstall, PC says already installed. go to uninstall, not in the list, go to folder and run uninstall from there. go to reinstall, same thing (after a boot of course). I think, HDD fragmentation, defrag, reinstall, same sh*t. I decide to install to a non default folder. Yeah!! install success. hook up the phone via usb to the pc. recognoition. sys tray icon says connected. phone says connected. try to bring up the UI for activesync. nothing happens. try to sync from the phone end, nothing happens. Boo. call Cingular, wait, wait, wait, smoke a ciggarette, wait, they say call audiovox, call AV, wait, wait, you get the picture, they say update to the latest ver of AS. I do this. installs fine, recognizes the phone fine, when i go to bring up the user interface, i get an error message that the device is not compatable, upgrade to the latest version of activesync. Does anyone see the irony of the latest version telling me i need the latest version? anyway, several hours and three companies later, i have no help except these techies who read canned script off a screen and dont know jack about their field. i say screw it, i am returning the phone. after i arrange to have the phone replaced, the frigging thing dies on me. i mean just dies. doesnt respond to charger, power button, nothing. my new phone is at my house now says my wife but i think i am going to have the same activesync issue. (by the way, i configured norton to allow communications to and fro with the device to no avail) anyone have similar activesync issues, and did you get them resolved? i am ready to do a full system wipe on my pc to get this thing to work. Help please, i beg of you. Dan

well, i resolved the issue, when all else fails, your OS is at fault. so i reinstalled my OS, (losing around 30-40 full length CDS in the process >"
any way all is well now.
