I just had the weirdest thing happen to me and was wondering if anyone else has experienced something similar, or if i'm just being stupid.

the l7 manual explicitly states that the phone can not be charged through the computer if the battery is completely dead. this made sense to me, as the only time the phone would actually go into "charging" mode is after it was detected by the computer (either as a memory card or as the l7, depending on the mode it was put in).

my battery was completely dead (holding the on button would do nothing at all), and i was searching the internet to see if there was anyway to pump a little bit of juice into the phone through the usb port to get it to turn on and be recognized by the computer. meanwhile, the phone was already plugged into the usb port.

after about 2 minutes, i glanced at the phone and it had turned itself on, got detected by the computer, and started charging.

is there a minimal charge that runs through the usb ports at all time? did this charge my phone? does this mean completely dead L7s can be charged through the computer after all? or am i missing the completely obvious?
