loading an image on smt5600

I have a cingular image that I would like to load on my SMT5600. Could please get some advice on how to make this work. I have both a .nbf file and a .img file.
I have tried the USB power on, but all I can get my phone to do is go to the tri-color screen.
Anyone know what to do from there?

do you want it to be the loadup image? or just want the image on the phone as a backdrop?
