i have an lg vx9800 n am lookin 4 an upgrade....iz vzw 6700 better than tmobilez mda....watz da difference between the 2 ? besidez 1 being cdma n da otha gsm....

Not much difference besides the processor really, the 6700 uses a 416, while the MDA uses a dual 200. They each have a plus and minus however one of the 200 processors is for the phone app as far as I know, also no one has really utilized the dual processor of the GSM series.

do you know any 3rd party software for voicedialling?I have a kyocera phone which will voicedial 30 names but it appears the 6700 will not dial any?-jweir

I like the VX6700 layout and design.but the two devices are very similar.

I just received the vx6700 Well I also have the MDA tmo for 8 days and the verizon 6700 2 days Both have the same op sys. T mo gives you built in voice command by cyberon and it works with blue tooth right out of the box . The Audio vox 6700 needs to purchase the voice command and I suggest the ms voice command as the cyberon is good but the microsoft program is better except that you have to hack open the use of the bluetooth device for dialing etc. from bt earpiece. I hope they get out an upgrade that uses the bluetooth functions for the vx6700 and the MDA with the MS product v1.5. .
As far as the phones go both have good reception and good sound over the blue tooth earpieces. I use the logitech hso2-vo7 it great and comfortable wind resistant boom mic great shop around between 35-60 bucks and the lg hbm300 $39.00 and the motorola hs810 $100.00, tomtom go 700 gps. Ive had many BT devices in all ranges and colors sony's nokias other moto's. I really like the logitech . I have never spent over 100 for any. $25.00 is too cheap. The ms 5 os is the same and the 6700 is alittle faster .the mda is a little smaller but both are on my hip or in breif case so no matter.

1. keyboard Adiovox 8out of 10 Mda 6 out of ten
2. size Mda color too. Yet I like black too on 6700 tie on color
3. looks tie to edge mda

4.Wifi edge goes to vx6700 faster by 4-500 kbs. 1200kbs
5.wireless speeds over cellular network goes to verizon vx6700 average 850
kbs

to tmo 120 kbs.

6. Apps and speed about the same remember to go to setting/system/memory/running programs list and close those apps that you dont need open IT KEEPS IT PURRING. there is third party apps that do this too. most stuff is built in .

graphics slight edge to mda
7. 6700 slightly faster for certain things like hiding keeboard. it annoys you in mda.
8. hand writing recognition is pretty good . both the same.
9. BATTERY LIFE GOES TO MDA
One other consideration vx 6700 us and mexico canada jamacia only more or less. MDA WORLD PHONE and you can use foreign chips once it is unlocked and more hackable.
Much faster than Treo 650 too.
I still like my abandoned 650 sob
