Kelvin, just read the first page of this thread, and follow the directions. Once you have done this, if you have issues, pm me and I'll walk you through it.

Try to search for answers to your questions BEFORE you post them, it keeps the threads cleaner. Getting your phone to connect to your pc has to have been covered on hofo PLENTY of times, and like I said, there are instructions on the first page of this thread.

bro i have read it lyk 30 times already lol the problem is i dont kno how to install the p2k things into my comp...lyk wat do i need to press so they can b installed?

This is just one example, but it fits what you describe.

Did you add your firmware to the configuration file like I suggested? And did it work for you if you did?

I used that config file exactly as you had it and it still did not like my platform. I ended up using Midway. Loading a game was harder than getting P2K to work initially, because it has to be the right tool and the right game. But it worked.

For some reason my v710 is not connecting to midlet manager......any reason for this? It just says disconnected. I just installed all the drivers and whatnot....thanks!

Yeah, you might just have a cdma phone.

Posted by: AngeloD

so then there is no way to get games on a cmda phone from verizon, other than purchasing from get it now?

Posted by: vice86

from reading a few pages...it looks like my CDMA, BREW E815 wont play JAVA games...so trying all this is useless.

Posted by: pcbisnice

when i transfer the .jar file to my phone it asks me if i want to install. I do all that and it ask me if i want to play. I click yes and it starts to load, then says application error. I tried converting it to .jad, but i can't transfer/download .jad files to my phone, it says download error. I have to be honest the first post is confusing and missleading. A guy on the same first page said you need both the .jar and .jad file. But what do you do with both files? i can't get the .jad files onto my phone. I tried the motomidmgr, but its in a foreign language with no options of any kind. I have call of duty 2 installed on my phone, but it dosen't play!

K i have the games i want to put on my phone but when i go to install them i get this message "MIDlet installer error. See log for details" when i got to log it says "Can't find JAR file" wuts the problem?

Posted by: racapellan2003@

you need to have the jar and jad files in the same folder and use moto midman its easier, and get jad creator in case you dont have the jad file. it creates it. i have a motorola v635 and i have no problems installing games this way. good luck

Thank youse,

You said you use motomidman right? So if you want the game on your pc, then highlight the app name in motomidman and click on "Save"...

Posted by: scottman9999

I"m not clicking it. Someone try it and let me know if it is ok.

I keep getting the following error in the log:

"p2kapi.SeemWrite: 0032, 0001, 0, 0, 0x0149F100
p2kapi.SeemWrite: failed
Ready"

It then sends a popup that says "Unsupported platform Cannot Continue"

Any ideas?

Yeah, add your firmware to configuration file. The instructions on this are just a few pages back in this thread.

Have you tried installing the games directly onto your micro sd card? That way you aren't using your phone memory.

Did it work on an L7 GSM or an L7c SLVR CDMA (Sprint specifically)?

I installed the USB cable, everything works fine there, even MPT, but I can't seem to get Moto Midlets Manager to recognize it:

Code:
Filling grids... Ready COM10 - Motorola USB Modem Saving icon... p2kapi.Monitor: 0 Filling grids... Ready Ready Saving icon... Filling grids... Ready p2kapi.Init: p2kapi2.dll p2kapi.Init: ok Ready

Any suggestions? Adding stuff to the .ini file?

I did it on a GSM L7, not a CDMA L7c. It has a micro sd slot, why not install the games from the card?

Posted by: belvedere

with sprint, i'm pretty sure the only way you can "get games" is downloading them from sprint. you can't install them from a memory card, which is annoying.. hopefully someone finds out a way to install games on a sprint moto. but as far as i know, i think right now it isn't yet possible.

Posted by: eltakoduro

will this work on a v3t?
if not, what method can i get java apps/games on a v3t?
thanks in advance

Posted by: bodhi100

Thank You 'sharkjawz'. It took me 3 days to work this out my L7!!! I think what worked for me was settings/connectivity/usb settings/change to "data/fax connection". My L7 was found by windows, and picked up byMotoMidMan straight away, (installed 4 or 5 drivers automatically), now playing some of those games poste earlier. THANK YOU! Loving the L7 (got the AIDS support phone (UK)).

Posted by: BlueFrog

Okay, the easiest (by far) method to upload games is to use this form:

http://rumkin.com/tools/sprint/

You have to have a mobile browser on your phone, but this allows you to skip messing around with the menus and other programs.

Now if only I could figure out why some of the keys on my phone don't work with these games...

I should have kept on looking before I posted above. I found something that works perfectly for uploading games via Bluetooth.

adding games on the v3t is super easy, go to settings, connection, usb settings, and make sure that memory card is checked (its checked by default) then plug the phone into your usb slot, let it load up then it should comeup as a removable disk, clck that then go to the kjava folder and drag your .jar files into that, then go into games and apps and change the phone storage to memory card, then just install the games where ever and play

Hello,
I have a Cingular Moto RAZR v3 and am attempting to install Java games and apps to the phone. After editing seem files and getting the "Moto MIDlets Manager" application to work, I was able to successfully install one game and one app.

The issue now, is that on the phone, when I go to use them, the application and the game both have a crossed-out circle for the icon. When I attempt to run them, the phone tells me either "Application Error" or "Application Expired."

I have searched this forum and all posts with no such luck.
What am I missing here?

Try different games. Maybe the game is not compatible with the phone. I have a Cingular Moto RAZR v3 also and when I install a non-compatible game I get an Application Error also.

wow. that was super easy. lol. thanks N-Forced

Does anyone know of a voice memo java app?
I noticed the v3t has a "Voice Note" option, but once i'm done recording what i want, the only option i have is to send it to someone, and that not only costs money for me but it is just dumb.

For the application expired look in motomidman and see if the access is set to + or -. Which ever apps are giving you the application expired error, change the access to the opposite.

For the application error, the apps are probably not compatible with your device.

Let me know if this helps.

Posted by: chrism2202

Hello!
Thanks for the suggestion, I'll definitely try the access + or - and see what works with that one application (JapbLite). Some other games will work with the default skin set to "Moto" (the default). There are 15 ".dat" files in the theme, and for some strange reason, the installed games work with that theme. When you set the current theme to another one, the games stop working again. A workaround for this issue is to simply copy the "MotoXX.dat" files to the new theme (where 'XX' is numbers 1-15).
Once you do that, switch the phone to another theme, the games return to operable condition again.
Thanks.

Hey guys,

I wish I could say it works fine, but I can't seem to understand what you guys are saying.

I have motomidman on right now, I've tried my best to find this "+ or -" thing without success.

And this other trick, motoxx.dat, what does that mean? Are we talking about using p2k for that?

No, he means just rename the files. Let's say your skins name is CoolSkin. Then you need to copy the Moto .dat files into your CoolSkin folder and rename them from Moto to CoolSkin (The .dat and .ski files need to match the name of the folder that they are located in). So you would rename Moto1.dat to CoolSkin1.dat, Moto2.dat to CoolSkin2.dat and so on and so forth (if you already have CoolSkin1.dat- don't overwrite it, jut skip that motoxx.dat file). You would use P2k Commander to copy the files once they were renamed.

I am guessing that this works, but I've never tried it because I don't use skins that cause this error. I can also tell you that having these files copied into the CoolSkin folder would decrease your available memory.

anyone know how to change the full housing on a razr v3????????

Does the v3m with Alltel have Java? If it doesn't then i don't think that you are going to have much success with motomidman.

If it does you can find your SW version by going to...
Menu>Settings>Phone Status>Other Information>S/W Version

And add the first part of your software version to the config file of motomidman.

I have a new RIZR Z3 and I'm having trouble getting any games loaded. With my Mac, I can load pictures, videos, and ringtones over Bluetooth without a problem -- but nothing else. The transfer just fails. When I try MotoMidletManager in Windows, it just locks up and won't do anything with my phone, and occasionally gives me a "Platform not supported" error. I have the official Motorola drivers installed for my phone, and am able to sync and load things in MotoPhoneTools.

Anyone have any advice? Ideally, I'd like to be able to load this stuff via Bluetooth. Do I have to have a memory card? I don't have one right now.

I have successfully downloaded games from a Russian site that has a whole heap of pretty good games. Under their V3x category about 75% download as a bunch of files such as individual png picture files and sound files also system files. These don't work when I put them in the kjava folder of my transflash.
The games that are a single download file (jar) work fine. Assuming that they are in the correct place on the website, is there something I am missing here to get them to work?

Moto Midlets (not midget) Manager should work. What error do you get?

midget manager, rotfl. anyway, i am having the same problem. using xp,srvc pk2, and running version .667 of motomidman. the screen says connected, but can't access any of the functions. also, i am using a cdma phone, sprint v3m, and p2k programs are meant to run on gsm phones, so that might be the problem. anyway, hope to learn something here.

Posted by: drivenbysound

I have a CDMA v3m, and was able to connect and use p2kCommander after installing the driver package below. Before installing it, I could not get the p2k program to read the connection of the phone.

Motodev driver link: http://developer.motorola.com/docstools/USB_Drivers/

I downloaded the first driver package listed on that page for my v3m as I have the 32-bit Windows XP.

Normal if you are using a CDMA non-java phone. Which it looks like you are. Verizon uses BREW, not Java. Sorry.

HI guys. Just a quick general question. I have a V3 and am able to upload and install games fine. MY friend has a slvr, and he she wants some games too. SO just wondering how different is the uploading process for the V3 and the slvr (l6 i belive maybe l7). I assume it would have something to do with P2k Manager. Thanks for your help

Actually, just use motorola midman and that'll work on your v3 as well. Or, if she has the L7 she has a slot for a micro sd card. If you copy the jar files into the kjava folder on that card, simply put the card back into the phone and install them from there.

I have tryed always with no lucki keep getting this phone icon. if anyone has any idea feel free to e-mail me it be mostly appreciated..

Am I correct in assuming that using Java games is not possible under the Verizon UI even if I have edited the seem to enable the Java app Loader?

I know the alltell flash will cure this but I am always aprehensive about flashing the phone. Seem edits is about as far as I will go.

I can get Midway to connect to the phone, PST will not allow me to create a Kjava as it says the phone is not capable until I edit the seem to enable (which I have done...)

I just want to be sure I'm wasting my time here so I can move onto other things.

If I am so be it.
Does anyone know a good source of brew games and an app to get them into the phone?

Ok, hello everyone, I am totally new to cell phone modding and hacking..

Just signed up with Cingular, bought the v3xx razr from Amazon.com and received it today. I am still waiting on my MicroSD card to arrive, so I thought I'd try and put some games and music on the phone's built in memory to mess around with.

Following this guide on the first page, which from reading these and other forums, since the v3xx is so new maybe I'm using outdated information for my phone, but it seems to work on my computer, using the Moto Midlets Manager, the games show in the program, and I enabled the java upload thing.

Also I deleted a couple of the pre installed stuff, but when I click on Restart Phone, which I am assuming you do to initialize the changes, my phone, under My Stuff, games and apps, shows the stock Cingular stuff.

I've done this 3 times now, and do not know what to do or what I am doing wrong.

Thanks for any help.

Here are pictures to the Moto Mid Manager and what I did.

In this post there should be a list of all the games ive got, if not ill send it to you and send anything you need. Ive got a krzr k1 so the java platform and screen rez are pretty much the same..

Hmm. Verizon uses BREW, not Java. You will not be able to install java apps. Sorry.

Posted by: magnum7269

What about the Alltel Razr V3m? Is it possible to install or play games on this phone?

Posted by: KrzrMonkey

Its CDMA so some edits might be possible, but some of the games should work on It as its the origional Razr firmware. Never hurts to Try.. worst that happens is you install a game onto the phone and it wont load the game I doubt you will have the option to install from mem card, so use motomidman to install directly onto the phone as previously listed in this thread..

Posted by: magnum7269

I can't seem to use motomidman with my V3m because when i point the found new hardware wizard to the p2k drivers folder to install the p2k drivers and click next, it just says hardware not installed because the wizard cannot find the necessary software...

Posted by: lomarica

Midlet Manager not needed. MPT, transfer to video folder within MMC folder. Navigate to games & apps section of KRZR, select install new option, follow prompts. Play game. End of story.

P2k Doesnt accept ,my RIZR any suggestions?

Posted by: dannyyangie

Hey, I'm new here. I don't know if you guys have answered this yet. Is there any way to transfer games through the phones through bluetooth? I would like to transfer from an unlocked V3c to an unlocked Nokia 2865i. Thanks in advance.

Posted by: ecougar789

i just wanna know if there is a way to use microSD to transfer games if i have a v3xx?..using the install new feature

Posted by: TwoLOUD

So I take it Us Cellular uses Brew? I cant find a game section on this phone anywhere..Ya..Im pretty good with stuff like this and Im lost when it comes to my Krzr and games.

Posted by: MattMan657

Couple of questions guys.

1. I've got an E815 W/ the 01.1E.00 FW on Verizon. I believe it uses Brew not Java, am I correct? Therefore Java games would not work with it would they?

2. If you have the game files, can't you just drop it into the appropriate folder using BitPim or something of the sort?

Also, if someone could PM,IM,Email, etc a place where you can DL games it would be much appriciated.

Posted by: MattMan657

Soooo... anyone? Sorry for the double post.

Installing Games on A Motorola Phone by ShArK JaWz - Easy way v1.0

PROGRAM(S) YOU NEED

(1) Motorola Midlet Manager ---> http://rapidshare.de/files/13861495...n_v010.zip.html
(2) P2K Drivers (If you don't have them already) --> http://www.viceking.net/images/moto...ivers_WinXP.zip

Posted by: -amie-

i need someones help. preferably someone who will give me a quick and accurate answer. ive been googling alllll day trying to find out how to get java games on my v3c (its not brew, im in canada) so i have the MotoMidMan and PST 6.7 because I found another link that said to try that.

So all the drivers are installed and MotoMidMan connects and then freezes! Whats up with that?

Incase anyone knows anything about the PST thing, it starts to connect and gets to 50% and then gives me an error 'Cannot determine the number of NAMS' or something along those lines.

Im new. Be gentle.

Posted by: KrzrMonkey

if its a V3C, which network are you on? because sounds CDMA, in which case doesnt work the same way as good old GSM

Moto Mid Manager is also freezeing for me, anyone have any advice?

if youre talking about what i think youre talking about . . . i have telus and dont have a sim card

is that bad?

i got the ringtones on it already but im getting tired of the tetris game i downloaded for $7

Posted by: KrzrMonkey

well with Telus, installing games is damn hard becuase if you start to mess with the firmware you can screw up the programing of the phone, where as with gsm, the sim does all the work so the phone can do whatever you want.. try going to modmymoto.com under guides should be info for the cdma versions but again, games make id difficult unless you have the option under the games section to "install new" if you do then its simple, ive got Rogers and ive got 31 games on my phone

Posted by: hamid1445

this is so easy, i bought a v190 2 days ago. then i hooked it up with my usb cable.
i downloaded p2kman and the drivers for v190. it worked perfectly. i put games on it and music. it is like filled up!

Here's a method for un-installing: (works for CDMA motorola phones)

1) Download Hex Editor Workshop: here and install it.

2) Using BitPim, locate 'a/brew/installed' (I don't have my phone on me, so I don't remember the correct path, so just locate the 'installed' folder)

3) There will be a 'selector.utf' file in there. Save it to your computer (Using BitPim)

4) Using Hex Editor Workshop, open the 'Selector.utf' file.

5) You should see a bunch of numbers and jibberish now. Next, click EDIT and search for the keyword 'preinstall'.

6) You should now have some highlighted text to the left side of the screen. it should say something like: "preinstalled=Y' [These are your individual games, for example, if you have 3 games, there will be 3 'preinstalled=Y' in the code down the right side.]

7) Replace ONLY the letter 'Y' with the letter 'N' so for all 'preinstalled=Y' you should have 'preinstalled=N' (This tells the phone that these games were installed by you, and not by your service provider, therefore allowing you to 'remove' them)

8) After replacing all the values, click FILE and save it.

9) Now, put 'selector.utf' back into BitPim (just click and drag from your desktop, back into BitPim) but MAKE SURE that it goes in the same folder you took the 'selector.utf' file from. Just assure that you over write it.

10) Finally, eject your phone from your computer. Goto Java Games & Apps. When you highlight a game, click 'Menu'. You should now have an option to 'Remove' the game from your phone. Click that, it will now uninstall the game from your phone!

Good luck!

First time poster so forgive me for what i'm sure is a question(s) that have been asked in this thread over and over.

Reason i'm asking is because all the links and/or "how to's" seem to be dead.

I have a Motorola RAZR V3T Quartz edition, on a Rogers network, that i'd like to be able to download free games onto but haven't a clue how to go about doing that, what software to use or generally what the hell i'm doing...lol..

Can anyone throw me a lifeline?

ATTN: Alltel, Verizon, US Cellular, Cricket Motorola users.... You're phones use BREW, NOT JAVA, so this will NOT work for you!!
This is true for the V325, E815, V3C, V3M, K1M, Maxx Ve, V9M, Z6tv, Z6c and others from those wireless carriers.

Bell and Telus users... your Moto's DO use Java, but the process might be slightly different.

Got my V3 yesterday and used MPT to install ringtones.
Attempted MotoMidlets & P2K Tools to install games.
No luck with either. I read though and got MotoMIdlets V0.85 to recognize my phone. When I attempt to Install a game in phone memory I get the following error:
No free space Need 149241 bytes, available -1 bytes.

I deleted the demo game and I still get Free 0.0 bytes at the bottom right.

I swithched from the Phone memory tab to the Trans-Flash tab and the Install button is greyed out. I clicked on the More pull down and selected the Switch to Mode "Memory Card" and after 40 seconds of Waiting for new drive I get the following error:
Can't switch to the Memory Card Mode.

When I attempted P2K I got a cannot connect to phone error.

Any suggestions?

Posted by: 2tone

I am attempting to get P2k to connect to my phone. When I connect the phone I see the red dot blink but never connect to the phone.

I have attemted to use midway as well.

When I attempt to send the jad file I get....

Opening JAD file.............[OK]
Connecting the phone.........[TIMER EXPIRED]

Downloading canceled.

I downloaded UID Extraction Tool 2.2
It connects, reads and writes to the phone.
The Java application loader is enabled.

What should I try next?

Posted by: 2tone

I figured it out. I downloaded the latest version of midway from
https://developer.motorola.com.
I followed the instructions in Using_MIDway_2_8.txt and it worked.

The key was Settings--Java--Settings--Java App Loader

Insert cable now

JAL link is now active.

This is true for the V325, E815, V3C, V3M, K1M, Maxx Ve, V9M, Z6tv, Z6c and others from those wireless carriers.

Bell and Telus users... your Moto's DO use Java, but the process might be slightly different.

Soo... are there free BREW games I can load onto my phone?
It would be nice to have a couple of simple games on my new Z6c.

Um, guess you missed Post #340 and Post #344

well I know it uses BREW, but I know the phone has JAD files stored on it, I purchesed a game recently and the files that brew generated were JAD OBJ and BIN as well as db (but I think they're temp storage files of some sort)

I've moddified my INI file slightly, it now reads my seems, but after reading it comes back with "un-supported plateform"

Does MotoMidMan opperate on a simular phone file system as the K1M? I'ts pretty much the same file system as the V3c (which I was able to backup the game content off of) so I'm assuming there's some sorta seem or data file thats preventing the java app loader from getting JAD files to load unless its from the service provider.

Here's my new INI file for MotoMidMan:

You have the same problem I had, perhaps you'll have to use P2K commander to upload the files instead, I can give you tips if you need'em, but tis pretty straight forward, just upload the JAR and JAD files to the Brew/mod/jbed/preinstall folder (if you're running brew) , then run your Java app loader and the game/app should install itself. If you don't have a JAD file you can make one with a JAD creator, there's tons around.

Posted by: Binafus

When I use the P2kCommander I get it working but when I try to save the Seem info I get an error.

It is the step right after reloading the phone information.

I was not sure if it was safe to browse my phone and put files on them even though I can see the file structure.

I was following the steps off of Mark Venture's pages.

Posted by: turbo38

Actually, you can even use Bitpim to load the files, I'm pretty sure it'll work that way too

I have the moto krzr k1m through verizon, and i've been researching for hours and have not found a clear guide for my particular phone. when i tried following the guide given in this thread, i downloaded the moto midlets manager program and i'm not able to follow through with the rest of the instructions because i get that "unsupported platform" error, and i still don't understand how the rest of you got past that. i've tried following everyone's different p2k alternative directions, but everyone has a different folder setup from what i have so i don't know where i'm supposed to put it. Here is how mine looks:
Brew, Mobile, Motorola folders...since i'm wanting to install a game, i've heard from some places it should go in Brew...so in Brew i have: mif, mod, and sys. in sys i have en and es folders. in mod i have: some random numbered folders from demo games that were already installed, app_mainmenu, app_ota, app_recentcalls, app_settings, and brewappmgr. it gets deeper but i hope you get the idea. : if i use p2k i need to know where to put it and any further instructions. if i use moto midlet manager i need to know how to bypass the unsupported platform error. i already know how to put ringtones and wallpapers. i just need to know where to put the .jad file for games and how to install them once they are on my phone. also for those of you who keep asking where to get good free ringtones, wallpapers and games, i personally like to use PhoneZoo. problem with that is, they txt everything to you and i have texting disabled on my phone, hence the hacking.

put your JAD and JAR files in the Brew/Mod/Jbed/Preinstalled folder then run your java program on your phone, the game should install automatically

that's the problem, i don't have a Jbed folder or a Preinstalled folder, nor do i know how to run my java program...

just tried this with bitpim on my v9m, and it seems to work. gotta try it with some more games thou to be sure.

[update]
well it works well, just be sure to backup your installed directory so that if you have unworking games, its easy to get rid of them.

yes, thats right, I forgot, you're running Java not Brew, there is a way, I just can't remember off the top of my head, I'll get back to ya in a day or so.

I'm pretty sure that there might be a way to change the ini file in midiman, open it up and post what you got for a configuration

Posted by: codwif

so is there any way to get the games to run the full size of the screen? most of the games that i have got working all play in a small box.

Posted by: turbo38

Some games are designed for different phone and java app types, also meaning they run different resolution sizes, so its basically trial and error. I wanted to run R-TYPE on my K1m but its set up for a nokia 5300, so I can only see 1/4 of the games screen, sucks but what can ya do lol

I've heard there's an App Rez Resizer on the net somewhere, but I doubt it'll work for mobile phone games

Can I even install games on my Z6m Metro Pcs phone? If so do I just follow instructions here?

Metro PCS is a CDMA carrier that also uses Brew, NOT JAVA.. SO no, you can not use these instructions.

Posted by: squatingyeti

Is there a way to reposition the screen for some games? Or maybe just resize them? Motomidman has it set to my screen resolution for the Krzr, but a lot of games aren't centered on the screen.

Posted by: Cowman

hrm... will have to try this later this week!

Here is yet another phone under the MOTOYUVA series. Motorola has rolled out its latest Mobile Phones India , dubbed MOTOYUVA W270 in the Indian market. This slim flip phone lets consumers dance on their music with the built-in MP3 player along with other music functions such as a dedicated MP3 and FM keys.

My Question is will this mobile phone is worth buying as I love playing games in mobiles. And will this mobile install the games in it?

Thanks in advance.

Will this process/these programs work for the Moto Z9? I read somewhere that the Z9 isn't a P2K phone, whatever that means, which makes me think I might need a different approach to installing games. Anyone tried it with this phone yet?

edit: nevermind, they install easily enough just loading them through freewap

Metro PCS is a CDMA carrir that uses BREW, Not java..

0032 seem only exists on GSM phones. and P2KTool, P2KManager, etc don't work on CDMA ph
