Help! Razr V3 battery lasts 2 hours + outer screen dead

Can anyway explain this? My Cingular V3 Razr all the sudden went from an idle charge of about 2 days to 2 hours. And the outer screen just shows black (it still "functions," but sends out a black display. I got this razr about 9 months ago and I'm a bit peeved it's acting up so soon. Any suggestions as to what the problem is and how i might go around fixing it? Help is much appreciated.

short battery life.. does the phone heat up as well ?

after charging, it gets a little hot. When idling, it seems fine.

If it were older the a year I would suggest you Monsterpack it. Since you still got 3 months left on the warranty I say replace it. That is what I would do/have done.

ok just got the new V3 Razr today via Fedex thanks to the warranty and the new one included the videocamera option activated already. Saves me the trouble of having to hack the thing. Thanks for the advice.

yeah... i have the same problem ... my phone went from lasting 2 days to maybe half a day ... i have insurance, but i don't wanna spend another $50. How do I go about getting the manufacturer to replace it? Also, will the new one be refurbished or brand spankin new?

I do not know if the phone is refurbished or not, to be honest. I have a sneaking suspicion that it is a refurb tho. In any case, the new one tests to be fine thus far. If you want to get a replacement, call 1-800-801-1101 and follow the prompts. I called at 11:00pm EST so it seems they open relatively late. They got it to me within 2 days (overnighted the next day). I'm about to ship the broken phone back now (postage paid).
Seems to be good so far. I won't be happy until i see that no additional charge was posted, however. This is supposedly all on warranty.

oh thanks HWA, But i called the place where i bought it and they are gonna replace mine tomorrow ...with a new one! They said that their was a batch of defective phones that they sold last month. Now i gotta delete those non-cingular ringtones!
