Rogers Canada - Razr - Outside Display when Flipped open

I am on Rogers network in canad and i use the Razr. I am trying to mod the outside display when it's flipped open but haven't been successful. Rogers overrides the cl.gif image in tthe main directory so changing that image doesn't help. Does anyone else know how to change the outside image easily? I'm not too terribly familiar with hacking that deep into the phone so any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Well, first off, lets get it out in the open: you CANNOT put an animated image on the outer display. And when the phone is CLOSED, you will see the image which is your current wallpaper--that can't be changed. Sorry. That being said, lets show you how to change that picture.

1. Image needs to be resized to 96x80 pixels. As well make sure that you rename the image to cl.gif (lower case letters), and that it has to be a gif file. Easiest way to make sure file is in gif format is to right click on the image, choose properties and verify the file type as gif

2. connect your phone to your computer and open p2kman, click on update list and then go to /a/mobile/system/ directory and you'll see a cl.gif. You can replace the existing cl.gif with a new one by clicking on "pc to phone" and selecting the new cl.gif from your PC, then click on the restart phone button on p2kman.

3. If it doesn't work after completing the last step then you will need to do some seem editing. First download 004a_0001 seem using p2kman open it in XVI32 and verify that offset 27 is set the to 00. then you need to edit 0061_0001 and 0062_0001 seem to show the directory of the cl.gif: Make sure that on the right side of XVI32, it reads "[]/[]a[]/[]m[]o[]b[]i[]l[]e[]/[]s[]y[]s[]t[]e[]m[]/[]c[]l[].[]g[]i[]f[][]". Make sure that both 0061 and 0062 seems are like like what is listed above.

4. upload the edited 004a_0001, 0061_0001 and 0062_0001 seem upload using p2kman and click on the restart phone button. You should now have a custom outerlcd image.
