Speaker messed up on v635

When I talk to someone on the v635 I have to jam the phone almost right next to my ear to hear anything. Its almost like the speaker is completely dead or not working properly. Im not sure what could be wrong. (Maybe an issue with the wiring or something...) I don't want to have to replace this phone - any suggestions?

Also.. speaker phone works fine.. :/

Thanks.. situation does not look good. I am sure this is a hardware problem. Being in the US and since I bought on eBay awhile ago, it doesn't look like I'll be able to get this phone serviced..

Maybe there is a problem with the speaker's connection, but I did manage to increase the gain on the earpiece so that my problem is (temporarily at least) solved.

Your contacts on the speaker may be dirty. A lot of the Moto flips have been coming in with dirty contacts on the earpiece speaker. If you take apart the section with the speaker and clean the contacts you may fix the phone permanently, the gain_table edit is great for quick resolution but if you want to keep the phone for a long time then try cleaning the contacts as it will get worse again if it is indeed dirty.

Hmm.. thanks. Can someone give a semi-detailed description of how to do this? I have never opened up the phone before

Why not check out the V600 case change thread? Lots of pictures and it's close enough for government work
