e815 - cant access mailbox

For some reason when I call my own number from my phone and press # to access my mailbox it doesnt recognize the # being pressed and just keeps playing my voicemail message. if i call my phone from any other phone it works fine. I also tried calling my house from my cell and when i press any number keys they dont make any sound. is this an option or something that can be turned on or off? please help.

DTMF was set to off..
