My speaker seems to be going out on my RAZR as it has been rattling a lot. Can someone tell me if it is easy to replace the flex cable which contains a new speaker. Here is a link to the part I'm referring to. ebay auction I have opened it before so all i have is a T5. Are any other tools or skills required to do this.

The personality flex is not too hard to replace. You have the T5, you will need a plastic tool to pry off the crystal caller ID lense once you have the front housing off, under the crystal is the flat cable connector for the personality flex. The flex is held on by the adhesive that comes on the cable so you will peel and stick the new one in place. Suggestion, once you peel the paper off the back, put the ribbon into the connector first and lock it down, then carefully align the cable around onto the LCD module. You will also need a small flat jewelers screwdriver (that is what I use) to pry off the side buttons and it also helps in aligning the new buttons. Be sure to save the small black foam pads or your buttons will become loose when reassembled. Hope this helps...Good Luck!

Your post is very informative, thank you! I have one coming in the mail so hopefully i can get that fixed and put my horrible v551 back into retirement.

Good luck with the RAZR and definitely retire that V551 even though it is a good all around phone.
