8125 & Agile Msgr - Which version???

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

I've read several posts about people running Agile Messenger on the 8125. I downloaded and installed 3 different versions and they all have the same problem. On the initial screen, I can select the service(AOL, MSN, etc.), but I cannot click/tap on the "Connect" or "Exit" options at the bottom of the screen.
Any ideas?
Which version should I be using?

Thanks...

I have been using the PocketPC 2002 Version... I have noticed that some people can see my IMs and some people can't but I can see theirs fine. I don't know if other people have been having this problem. I can't wait for the WM5 version.

i had that version on my phone but it kept connecting me to gprs on its own. Now i've uninstalled agile messenger and my phone is still connecting me to gprs for no reason. I try and hold down the end key to disconnect but right after it disconnects. It tryis to connect again. How do i make it stop?

Now i'm being connected to Cingular GPRS APN.

thats because you still have agile messenger running. if you go into your settings, then goto memory icon, kill agile messenger and then it wont do that.

i've been using the version right off their site, the ppc beta i think? i'll say it again like i said it before, its free. and whoever said last time its only a 7 day trial... please explain to me why i installed it on feb 9th and i can still use it today w/ full functionality? thought so

I just noticed that as well. Hmmm. I still have the beta installed. Probably a bug. Great.

Realize this is an ALPHA release so there will be bugs. If you need something bugfree and stable then do not install this.

With that said, this release is pretty good stability wise. There are minor bugs but nothing that will affect normal use of the IM. The always on GPRS bug is noted in that thread and a temporary solution has been offered by another member. Basically you have to go into registry and edit the alwayson key.

im definitly waiting for the final release. im using agile messenger ppc and it is fcuking badass!

I jumped on this alpha release since the previous non WM5 version had problem with landscape mode. And other than the GPRS always on bug, it's stable enough for my every day use.

did that. Didn't think i had to since i'm running magic button. It didn't quit. Not even after a soft reset.I just did a hard reset and started over. It was def a bug with that version of agile messenger. I think i'm all set with running betas.

I also noticed magic button would not kill the app. Only way to exit is to select exit from their menu.

Like I said in previous post, this is a bug which activates the "always on" registry that causes GPRS connection to stay up, even after exiting the program.

The current update has corrected that problem among others. Just run your alpha version and it will download the update automatically when it connects.

Realize they have the ability to disable your alpha/beta version at any time when the testing period is over. But they never mentioned 7 days.
