I bought a data cable for the LG vx9800. The cable is the mobile action MA 8032P. When I try to install the drivers that came with it, it does not recognize that the cable in even plugged in. On the other hand it does charge the phone.

Everytime I run the installation software is a box comes up with things to check like:
Power on phone
plug in cable to phone
plug in usb to pc
if usb is already plugged in, remove for 3 seconds and plug back in.

I do all this and nothing. The box stays up there.

Any help you could give will be greatly appreciated.

I'm using windows. I previously had installed the software for a different phone which may be running interference. I tried the installation on 2 different computers one a dell, and another one HP, and both of those worked. So I am dumbfounded as to what the problem is.

I am also using Windows XP. Keep checking the VX9800 how to thread for more info.
